Here’s a sparkling Beethoven Triple featuring Christian and Tanja Tetzlaff.
Outstanding musicianship - obviously a great understanding between violin and cello, the way they combine for those soaring melodies is rather special.
Royal Northern Sinfonia offer full-blooded support; it’s very much a heart on sleeve recording.
I could quite happily have this as the only version of this work in my collection.

A superb set of the complete Beethoven piano sonatas. The last 4 - opp 106 & 109-111 - are especially tumultuous, wonderful.
Interesting that the relatively unknown Maria Grinberg was chosen by Russia's state label, Melodiya, as their one and only (as far as I can make out) complete set - when you think of the roster of astonishing Russian pianists they could have called on. But listen, and you'll hear why! Staggering performances in clear if slightly steely sound. But the steeliness may well lie in the strength of her fingers!

Quite possibly the most realistically recorded piano I have ever heard.
A very fine, if slow, performamce of one of my favourite piano pieces as well - Bach Partita #2.

Absolutely fascinating. Two of the great classical musicians of the 20thC - Glenn Gould and Yehudi Menuhin - discuss Schoenberg's Fantasy for Violin and Piano for 7 or 8 minutes before going on to play it

That's very nicely played indeed. She plays with passion, not just pyrotechnics.

and she hobbles onto the stage, almost falling at one point - probably wearing some crazy high heel shoes.
She should realise that she doesn't need to do that stuff any more.

I listened in lo-res at work and I liked her interpretation without hearing the SQ.
I think she genuinely likes dressing that way, it seems to be a part of her make-up.
