September was a frustrating month with regards to my Digital set up It all started when I got the DigiOne signature Unfortunately it would not work correctly with the SEG It kept cutting out the signal in the end I had to send it back. A shame as showed a lot of potential Had to use my laptop but the sound was awful I also tried a Nova N15 d but could not connect to the HUB due to using a BT hub. I could not find the device I got another DigiOne thanks Paul and the Chinese PSU improved the noise floor on my modam and hub so felt like a nice upgrade I also decided to try the SOtM 200 ultra neo When it arrived I could not connect to the GUI Discovered no SD card Just got it up and running It is better than the DigiOne it changes the presentation and still believe it is settling in so perhaps more to come Not sure I go for it yet Hopefully have a better sense at the weekend John

Best of luck John. I admire your persistence.
This would be frustrating me silly (sillier). I want to turn on and hear music

Sounds like you have continued to have a lot of challenges, John, but glad you have it moving in the right direction.

I see that the SoTM is capable of running both LMS (server) and Squeezelite (renderer/player/client). Have you tried using them together? Hang a USB HDD off the back, point the server at it, and you have an effective player.
Chances are that you could do similar with the Digione stuff too - bung piCorePlayer onto the SD card, and it too will be capable of running both server and client, capable of being pointed at a USB HDD hanging off the back.
If you don't want to use USB HDDs bung all of your local files onto a NAS, and point the server at it.
LMS is the key constituent - it's a very mature method of interfacing that gets disregarded precisely because it has been around for what seems like forever. It works very, very well. LMS is a community effort, and the community is very effective at sorting out issues which arise.
If you're looking at streaming audio content from 3rd party providers there are apps which just work - Spotify is one that works extremely well. There's Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, and 1 or 2 others to consider as well.
You can control it all from the address bar of a web browser using local IP addressing (my own LMS server is on , or you can get an app from the Google play store that runs on Android phones. Got an iPhone? Use iPeng.

You could of course just go out and buy an Innuos Zen Mini and just relax. It already uses Squeezelite & LMS, so driving it is a cinch. I know of an IT challenged Scotsman that is delirious with his Innuos Zen server/renderer.

The SOtM has Librespot which is very similar to Volumio Spotify connect so really easy to get Spotify up and running. But I will try LMS, Roon, Bubble and Minimserver At present I need to find what works for me. The SOtM 200 Ultra Neo is now starting to show it true colours. I am really liking what I am hearing

John, I envy your ability to persevere...hope it works out well for you.
Chris has been very supportive to this IT phobic glaswegian over the last couple of days....almost like when the two pilots get food poisoning and the air traffic controller is trying to talk the eegit stewardess to land the 747!!!

I am certainly not up with the likes of Martin or Chris with computers. Most of the issues I faced were beyond my level of sorting and with the Signature a hardware issue between the Sig and Seg so either meant a new DAC or streamer and I would never get back my investment in the Seg so the Signature had to go back. The SOtM is also pretty straight forward with regards set up much like your streamer like Volumio you type in the device address and you then pick it up on your local network It nearly double the price of your device however but is extremely well reviewed.
