I ordered 1 inch width off Amazon. It will arrive tomorrow, although I won’t try it until my speakers are back and I’m used to them again. It looks like people are using 2 inch on head-fi 1" Faraday tape on Amazon for £11. Saves waiting for it to arrive from China.

I haven’t even received the quotation yet as they said they were very busy and wouldn’t get to look at them for a few days.

I just read the thread (thanks) It sounds like it can change the balance of the system if you over use it. I would suggest people if trying this to do it with small steps and find out what works for you.

Well I been trying this over the last few days. I prefer on my power cables and grounding. On anything else the treble gets a bit hot for me. It certainly worth a try but I would say use sparingly

On anything else the treble gets a bit hot for me. That's really interesting, John. I have found it virtually a rule of thumb that any mod that works in the right direction calms any tendency towards brightness. The converse is true: any mod that is detrimental almost always goes towards brightness, which may wow at first but tires in the long run.

It does this on anything to do with the signal. With power and grounding it works well

I have a Fluke non contact tester like this Fluke 1AC II VoltAlert Electrical Tester amzn.eu/d/9ESnWu7The tester picks up EMF from live cables. It won’t work through screened or armoured cables. I held the RFID tape against a cable and tried to test with the Fluke tester and it won’t pick up anything, so this is encouraging.

I will not be able to hear the system until Friday On the power side it does that usual trick of a darker background, depth and impact So places that work for me are mains cables connectors to all 240v device's I have not tried yet on small DC current Places I thought were a backwards step signal cables including Ethernet DAC and amplifier. Just add slowly and find what works and what is a backwards step.

I now put on all my DC leads intially a bit too analytical for me so I took off the cable powering my clock Now that a lot better Doing the DC cables only makes a slight difference I will need to live with it a while over different music to see if it stays in on the DC circuit

I have tried the tape as I couldn’t wait 😂
My power cord into my Dac has an Oyaide IEC connector that’s plastic and the Fluke tester picks up the live cable through it. The cable itself is Acrolink and is screened.
I applied the tape, wrapping it round the Oyaide IEC, so that the tape goes all the way from the Oyaide cable entry, until the tape just touches the Dac body. This made it so the Fluke tester no longer picked up any live signal. I also taped a couple of feet of the fig.8 cable to my Tv as it passes through a hole with the HDMI drilled through the chimney breast corner to the Tv mounted over the fireplace.
I’m getting more detail and timing precision through on recordings. Reverb is much more obvious.

After reading through almost every post in the Head-Fi thread, one post I came across was wrapping the cylinder of the ifi ipurifier noise filter in this tape. I wrapped it yesterday, but didn’t get to listen to music, only a few things on Netflix that contained music and I thought the sound was very good.
Today I’ve been listening to a bit of music and can confirm the background is much quieter, letting more detail through.

Yes it's surprising that in the right place this can help lower the noise floor. I tend to see RFI/EMI as the death of digital music. Eliminating as much as you can allows music to flow.

Noise is the enemy of digital music.
It's the exact opposite of the 'digits are digits' argument from those who don't understand how the D to A process works. Any effort to cut noise from the digital chain is rewarded with better sound quality.

My turn to report in.. So l don't use Faraday Tape,l use Copper Sheilding tape, then put some insulation tape over the top or heatsrink wrap. So just tried this process on the power input of my Gustard R26. Well l wasn't quite expecting that, what a nice improvement, and for peanuts really. This is something I really kind of overlooked, due to the obession of my NUC. l also have some sheilded paint that does a similar job RUSTINS G Shield Electro Smog Shielding Paint 500ml amzn.eu/d/8PDUAWHI've actually applied the tape to the end of my two Zero Zone DC outputs that power the PC and SSD,but l can't comment on that,as l done it months ago. So a quick question, apart from the plug inputs, has any applied to the mains side yet,not touching the connectors 🤣 Going to try a few bits now ...Excellent chaps

So this keeps getting better....Just applied tape to the DC out of my ifi Power Elite psi that runs my LB clock, and did the power lead input. That's another wow moment, l now seem to experiencing the same qualities of when l hays my Audio GD DI-20HE, but minus the slowness. Love it...
