Ah, but Mike will know that they're silver underneath. Come to think of it...

That's heavy man ! Thinking of a way I could make them disappear, or at least be a lot less obvious Maybe paint them black? There might be a way ! The boss uses acrylic paint - as one covering

Ordered a network switch.
After much reading, some emailing, and selling a few pieces... Bought a modded AudioPhool Cisco 2960 switch from The Netherlands. Will probably arrive late January 2022. Have a Teradak 12v linear power supply for this.

Getting close to four weeks waiting for the SR Purple fuses to arrive. Still waiting.
Reminder to self: DO NOT order from the UK early December.

Next to upgrade? DC cables for the linear power supplies, and M2Tech Hiface Evo 2/Clock
ghentaudio seems to be a reasonable option.

Then possibly looking at a LAN Isolator. An advantage is these are passive, so no power supply needed (No, I can't enlarge that cupboard Mr Whippy)
Options I can see:
Acoustic Revive LAN Isolator RLI 1GB Triple C ENO Filter by Network Acoustics SOtM ISO Cat 6
The ENO is a little too expensive for me at around £550. May end up trying the SOtM sometime next year.
Any experience with LAN isolators? Any other options any of you know of, or have tried?

Ghent make some very good cables, all beautifully assembled.
My orders from China still come through in good time. Items from the US are much more problematic.

I have been very pleased with the AQVox units. www.myhifishop.de/Devices:::1.htmlI did 'upgrade' their SMPSU to a linear one against their advice: Susanne was right though and it lasted in the system all of 5 minutes before I swapped it back! She was polite enough not to say, "I told you so" though. I also use their digital cables.

The Acoustic Revive LAN isolator was good enough, but the EtherREGEN frankly is in a different league.

When are you going to perform 'The Great Assembly', Brett? We will need a full photo sequence

Hmmm. The assembly?
Grandson has just turned 17 months. Moved two doors away, three weeks ago. My back yard is his playground daily.
Also need to get some pieces back from my cousin. So is going to be a bit before I piece it all together.

When are you going to perform 'The Great Assembly', Brett? We will need a full photo sequence I have to keep saving, keep selling. Then add a few more pieces. It's still fun. I'm not sure I'll know what I've got, when I finally put it together. So much has changed. At least with piece by piece purchases you install and listen as they are bought. Get to listen to what it does, play around with set up/positioning. I haven't managed to do that. Hope I like what I've got.

I think the first shock you will have is the enormous level of detail compared with your previous setup - even if you only use Spotify, but certainly if you use a higher res stream. The unknowable thing will be how your system copes with it. With all your accessories, you are certainly going about it the right way, but there comes a point when you have to actually listen and tweak.

The pieces are all reasonable, on their own. Unknown how they mesh together.

Summarising my recent changes/additions (for those just dropping in):
It started with
1. Project Stream Box Ultra 2 (replaced MacBook Pro) - Mad Scientist Black Magic USB - Samsung Fit Plus USB Drive(256Gb) - 1Tb SSD drive + Aqvox 5v power supply I had realised that I was limited by my MacBook. I needed something with a small footprint but plug and play for streaming, and playing some of my library
2. TP Link 6500 - Meicord Opal ethernet cable Streaming by running an ethernet cable is not possible in my house, so discussion about using wifi with an internet extender that has ethernet out.
3. Cisco 2960 Network Switch modded by AudioPhool - Meicord Opal ethernet cable - TeraDak linear power supply + GhentAudio DC cable + AMR Gold fuse Time on my hands, and too much to read about network switches. This option was cheaper than most available (+ import duty and sales tax)
4. M2Tech Evo 2/Evo Supply/Evo Clock (replaced Halide Bridge) - Linear power supply to Evo Supply + AMR Gold fuse - Black Cat Silverstar for Evo Clock, and to Dac Had the Evo waiting in the wings for two years.
5. Dual linear power supply for modem and wifi router - Supra Cat 8 Ethernet cable connecting them Discussion a few years ago that linear power supplies on modem/router was an improvement for streaming
6. Silent Point grounding box Had been reading that less connections per grounding box was a good thing
7. LKS MH-DA004 Dac - with major mods included (replacing modded Beresford SEG + Coherent Power Supply) - SR Purple fuse - Akiko Audio USB Tuning - Black Ravioli Big Pads This Dac became available, and was difficult to say no to. The other additions just followed on naturally
8. Recap and tuneup of Perreaux R200i amp - 2 x SR Purple fuses - Akiko Audio Equipment Tuning Chip 3D Had been wanting to get my amp serviced for three years. With the system down, seemed a perfect opportunity
The only things that haven't changed are the power cables (Mad Scientist/Merlin), Audience AU24SX RCA cables, SGS-1 grounding box, and ATC SCM19v2 speakers.
