There are 18 inputs on the RTZ 3 Enough for most So does your system sound 18 times better now?

Ho ho
Better than the RTZ 2. Big step up
Anyone who needs or wants more than the RTZ 2 is sorted with the RTZ 3
10 sockets taken with CD/Pre/DAC and Power Amp When I bring all my kit into play I will need more

RTZ 3 sounding even better after a quick check
then we plug in the
RTZ 4 ?, RTZ Monster ?
Only one likely to be made, to special order.
Bass in a different order, so deep and solid, even more detail, the usual stuff RTZs give
Bigger surprise was putting Black Ravioli big pads under, replacing the smaller sticky that made an improvement as great.
Then it was gone into the evening sun.
Purging my aural memory and enjoying the RTZ 3
RTZ 4 is much bigger and heavier with more sockets Whatever grounding does this is the best of the lot
Bonkers
If you want one you will have to persuade the manufacturer as he doesn't want to make another

Mike
I had a look at it yesterday morning when Tony visited!
"Monster" indeed at 32kg but still quite compact and fairly easy to accommodate on a system rack.
I wasn't "privileged" to have a listen, like you, but it did look the business, with 18 connectors to handle 36 grounding cables (my brain collapsed, when I did the arithmetic)!
Whoever it was destined for must have deep pockets and quite a few components in their system!

Hoping you have a clearer idea of what is going on now you have had time to think on. Why do grounding boxes work at all ? (RFI ?) Why do the cables have such an effect ? Why does each bigger RTZ sound better ? (Bigger lump for rubbish to soak into ?) How come more cables into the same box make the sound better ? (Better transmission of whateveritis ?) Why on earth (!) does the sound improve when placed on Black Ravioli ?

Why on earth (!) does the sound improve when placed on Black Ravioli ? This last one is counterintuitive - I put both my SGS boxes on Black Ravioli Pads and the system sounds better. However, we are told that the occasional shake is worth doing to help the contents settle further*. So why not let the vibrations do it continuously? No clue! * applicable to boxes with granular contents but probably not the RTZ.

Anything like changing speakers from spikes into the floor onto wobbly stands and hearing an improvement ?

I can thought-experiment why I prefer speakers on decoupling rather than spikes. I can thought-experiment why mains treatments work. I can thought-experiment why a grounding box works.
However, decoupling a grounding box? No, I can't get there yet.

As in my system blog just updated better cables connecting equipment to the RTZ improve the sound. Tony's latest BDU cables quite definitely out perform the previously great 6Ds
My guess is better cables will improve other grounding boxes too.
Sound is wonderful

One thing that's becoming very apparent with my box is the absence of background noise. My need to mute has not occurred. I find that I don't even bother to turn the volume down after a session, all I hear is dead silence, not even a pip.

My grounding boxes drop the noise floor during music, making countless details become more apparent.

Ordered the 4 BDU cables Tony gave me to try a while back Had to. Sound quality was too good to say no. In for a penny <cough> 5 BDU cables in the system. What would 5 more sound like ? Tony seemed to think they would be good, not too surprisingly Swapped one 6D for one BDU at a time yesterday. Sound improved each time. A veil removed each time. Swapping to my album playlist with all new BDUs in place I hear Sonny Landreth playing more notes ! More music indeed. Bajofondo Tango club has more going on and some ridiculously low bass. Cream - Wheels of fire live has more body and more reality All *sound* louder, more dynamic range Still evaluating Will swap them all out and all back in when I can bear to More music, love it

New BDU cables in place still After playing *below from the playlist and finding detail I'm sure I haven't heard before I decided to check how the old cables would sound in the system. First with the new cables. Played a Bajofondo track. Lots going on, acoustic and electronic Wonderful sound Swapped out the 5 new BDU cables and put in the previous First few notes ok then I realised things were missing. Detail lacking, separation of instruments down, bass slightly vague. I find it difficult to work out what is *not* there, opposite of Joni Mitchell Swapped the 5 new cables back in Instantly realised the difference Much more open sound, width, detail, greater bass depth and articulation, greater dynamic range. Music flowed better and there was more of it. Superb Cables make a difference even on a grounding box * Sonny Landreth - Grant Street Bajofondo Tango Club Presents Supervielle Cream - Wheels of Fire - dug out of file and hanging around Bajofondo Presente Beach Boys - Surf's Up Thomas Newman - American Beauty Soundtrack Rick Springfield - Karma Rick Springfield - Songs for the end of the world Joan as Policewoman - Real Life

I been late in trying grounding boxes. But my DC issues from the factory close to me got me thinking it was time to try. So I been expermenting with different configurations trying to figure out what works best in my system Initially I tried the RTZ with the USB silencers in place A mixed bag. More slam but lost some of the subtle detail I then took the silencers out and the balance became a lot better. Especially with files. I then remembered I could add the the USB black Ravioli on the hub Wow now even with streaming I have a nice level of dynamics Listening to In the presence of enemies part 2 I get that dark minor stuff sounding so good No idea how to finance this and will be hard to give this all back

My take on this is they are just taking DC noise out of the system so allowing the system to perform closer to its potential.

For the grounding box to work properly on the Tinkerboard I had to remove all the jitter reducing devices I use as I found using all changed the balance of the system losing treble detail The other thing that has seemed to have stopped is the occasional drop out when using the jitter devices on the Tinkerboard
