All mine are loose, bar the RTZ and Audio Magic filter box
Not sure about sticking them on....

The Pads (thinner ones) are self adhesive. Mine are attached to the Pi and SEG.

Confirmed by the boss.
Granite place mats on top of the RTZ improve the sound Subtle, noticeable
Why ?!

According to the manufacturer Tony (the Doctor) There is a small space in the RTZ 2 and this is being sorted by the placemats.
Currently on a Rainer binge, (with and without Das Combo) More there than there ever was before.

Is the RTZ "the one true answer" to all things in sound quality ? As a stand alone in *any* system ? No. Assume it could make some sound worse. In this system however it has allowed the rest of the kit to show true capability and previous kit that was close but no cigar like better Coherent cables and TAD to show the bigger difference they always had.
Makes me wonder about grounding in kit and why the manufacturers don't sort it or at least pay some attention. Too difficult for them ?
Mogwai currently being revealed as never before

Tony visited yesterday with a new prototype BD cable for the RTZ. Tested Oooh that sounds quite a lot better. Would like to check that
But I can't have it to play with as he needs to do it properly. It is literally a prototype and work in progress.
I barely understand the grounding principles anyway, but a better cable makes the sound better ?
All being well he is back next week with the final version

The grounding boxes are quite hard to grasp, but the difference the cables make is extraordinary. My SGS ones are cotton covered, the new one arriving is silver.
The Entreq ones cost a fortune!

Hi Martin Indeed its well north of four figures! Our type 2 version of the groundings leads are more than a match for them, which is why we have a few of those silver Entreq's that have been traded back. I would suspect Dave's 71 cables are far better constructed that Entreq's bent bit of wire affair though Its all good fund exploring this avenue of system improvement, still makes me smile every time I hear it

Details of my system changes in my blog. theaudiostandard.net/post/141044/thread("Link to post" not intuitive enough for me) The RTZ gives the system a big step up and allows it to deliver to the maximum. Upgrading is now bigger steps with the RTZ bumping up improvements and underlining the whole system. The foundation of the whole system is down to the grounding I think. Or is it total vastly exceeding the sum of the parts. Back with Gotan Project, which wasn't a 10/10 album before. Maybe it will be now Wonderful bass, so much background detail, rhythm, silky smooth vocal (female ! eek). Everything so stripped back now and so much better for it. Bears repeating - the more cables you connect to each piece of kit the better the sound. 5 currently in the TAD CD. 2 in the spare RCAs of the TAD power amp Too many sockets used to be a mild curse and stoppers useful to improve the sound. Now you want as many sockets as possible, all to connect to an RTZ. That bass !

Mike,
I was driving through Chobham last Saturday and thought I saw you, walking along, with a beautiful girl on each arm! Your hair had grown back and was now thick and dark and you had a whole new wardrobe of clothes!
Could Tony's RTZ box be responsible, I thought?

Must be Steve. It has affected so many areas of my life. Always had a problem fighting off the girls Our pack of 6 dogs also became 8 ! Barking is now louder and with much longer sustain

Hahahahaha!
"That bass!" - Now I know it's due to you adding a couple of extra woofers!

Miniature Dachshunds have a very deep bark for their size and good bass. Stereo with 2 !

What cables do you use with a grounding box?

Tony's Coherent. Started with 4D, 6D better, BD better still Even Tony was surprised, making the better cables as an academic exercise.
A short while ago I assumed grounding boxes were for taking money off punters. However something's up when Tony makes one so I listened and was staggered

Coherent grounding cabling solutions RTZ C1 a very good all round starting point offering potential quality results from £250 per 1.2m RTZ C2 taking a step up in potential overall performance terms above the RTZ C1 version £450 per 1.2m RTZ CR top performing grounding cable potential to deliver one of some of the best grounding sounds available. £600 per 1.2m

Mike is using 6D Steve RTZ C2 The prototype which is now finished is a C3 plus just working on some new connection configurations and plating material plus the usual Cryogenic treatment Most systems will obtain good benefits from the C1 variant no problem One chap has a few on his solution system, another has managed to get the Chord Dave to sound quite listenable as well no mean feat! It makes dcs sound almost musical I have been informed Plastic sockets maybe one element of the bigger picture of the total signal grounding effect within an audio system, though one customer has six leads in his ultra high end pre ampilifer not a plastic surround socket in sight just through hole isolation
