Upon installing my new speaker cables, I found that they fit my amplifier perfectly, with a reassuring snugness that enables proper grip. However, on the speaker end, things aren’t so happy; the spades (gold furutechs) are too ‘small’ to fit the outer perimeter of binding posts.
The only fit I can achieve is to ‘thread’ one of the two prongs through, like thread through the eye of a needle. This is unsatisfactory for a number of reasons, the first being of course if it comes loose and touches the other, goodbye amp...
Another being to achieve anything like a good fit it scratches the spades and they’re never properly attached. Not good for the maintenance of a premium product.
Finally, I’m getting minimum spade to binding post contact, which is never optimal for signal transfer.
If anyone has ideas or suggestions I’d love to hear them as this is an unhappy situation for me. Help!

The first and most obvious solution is to cut the spades off, strip the cables back, and use the bare wires to connect your cables. But...depending on the construction of the cables is this even possible? Did you buy them new and if so have you contacted the manufacturer? Did you choose spades deliberately or could you cut them off and terminate the cables with plugs?
More questions than answers I'm afraid, but without more info suggesting a solution is just a stab in the dark.

Speak to Tony, Martin. I’m sure he can help.

I completely agree with Paul. Get the wire cutters out and demand some cash back!

Thanks gents - I requested the spades myself and I'm sure they're industry standard size (if there is such a thing). They fit the amp beautifully.
I presume it's the speakers at fault if anything; I know this might sound like the tail wagging the dog but they're very cheap (250GBP ish?) and the cables are top of the line (Coherent 6d)- no chance I'm taking a tool to them! Part of what makes them so special is the care taken with construction.
I'd sooner replace the speakers lol (which is the plan, I'm waiting for us to settle somewhere instead of paying to ship hi-fi all over the world).
Good shout Paul, I'll do that.

Why not change the binding posts to something smaller, then?

The Coherent cables would be impossible to terminate without some know-how as they have eleventy-billion strands and are braided.
Tony should re-terminate if you need, or, as has been suggested, change the speaker terminals.

I’m actually borrowing the speakers from the guy I sold my oil ones to - not to say modding is out of the question I just didn’t realise it was possible (within reason).
How does one go about doing this? I realise I can google but you guys know the specifics now.

Why not buy some spades of the correct size, then solder them onto the too-small spades ? That should give an excellent connection.

Usually, it's simply a case of undoing a nut or two and removing the connecting wire and replacing it onto the new post. Sometimes it is soldered, sometimes it is a round lug that slips off when the nuts are removed.

Thanks all for your suggestions, I'll change the binding posts on the speakers.
