That's a very tough question, I'd possibly say this one because of it's significance.
John's pick of B.B. King Live At The Regal is also right up there, as are his other picks!

The one that I play the most, would probably be this one. Magic Sam - 'West Side Soul'
Most of the above would rank very high, though and I would also add the original Lomax recordings of Muddy Waters as being totally compelling listening.

An extremely close second place in my list of most played blues would be Lead Me On' by Kelly Joe Phelps.

I honestly couldn't pick just one. There are so many I could choose, for different reasons, by artists as diverse as Robert Johnson, Fleetwood Mac, Alexis Korner, Lightnin' Hopkins, Chicken Shack, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Stevie Ray, John Mayall, Little Walter... the list goes on and on and all are special in their own way and for their own reasons.

OK, you seem like a guy with some time on his hands(!), gimme 5 from the above and show your workings in the margin!

I'll start off with Stevie Ray. It's a compilation of sorts, although there are a couple of previously unreleased tracks. I think "Ain't Gone' N' Give Up On Love" is the best thing he ever recorded.

Nice. This is my favourite album with SRV on it. Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan - 'In Session'

Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee – Whoopin' The Blues - Because the blues can be fun too.
Chicken Shack - 100 Ton Chicken - again it contains the best thing they ever recorded - "The Way It Is."
Robert Johnson - The Complete Recordings, and for pretty much the same reason as Tim gave.
Sam 'Lightnin'' Hopkins* – That's My Story The Blues Of Sam 'Lightnin'' Hopkins Volume 1 - #1 Because it's the first Lighnin' album I ever bought and #2 it has a trombone on it, and nobody ever believes that.
There you go, that's five, and it would be just as easy to pick another five.

The one that I play the most, would probably be this one. Now I might have to take that approach, as I probably play KJP and SRV a lot more than Robert Johnson.

Yes, I think it is the only way to deal with a question that will inevitably have such nebulous replies. Plus, it's easy for you, as you've the means to come up with the stats!

Plus, it's easy for you, as you've the means to come up with the stats! Top 5 most played Blues Albums
Well that was an interesting exercise and I was a tad surprised too. I can only check back from April 2012, but since then and way out in front as my most played blues album . . .
1. Muddy Waters - Folk Singer
.... followed by;
2. John Lee Hooker - It Serves You Right to Suffer 3. Keb' Mo' - Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues 4. Etta James - Matriarch of the Blues 5. Tony Joe White - Lake Placid Blues
Funny that three of them actually have Blues in the title.
I'm off to see Tony Joe White at the Grand Ole Opry next month, now that'll be good

I would choose the following in no particular order:
- Hans Theessink - Call Me - Johnnie Johnson - Johnnie B. Bad - John Lee Hooker - The Healer - Eric Clapton - Reptile - Mighty Sam McClain - Give It Up To Love (Categorised by AllMusic as Soul, but I would strongly argue it is Blues)

Yes, I could have easily chosen Reptile. Superb album, did you know that he recorded it the week after he recording Riding with the King with B.B. King? Apparently it was because B.B. King bashed out the first album with him a lot faster than he expected, and he still had some available studio time. Amazing how good the album has turned out, considering.

Not a Blues expert at all, however do have a few Blues' recordings and love Fleetwood Mac's Debut LP.
