This year, to celebrate the fourth birthday of The Audio Standard, we shut down almost all the boards and restricted the chat to music and music only. We thought it would be a great idea to forget about the gear for a while and concentrate on the very thing that this whole game is in pursuit of: Our Love of Music.
It felt like a pretty successful endeavour from our point of view, but we'd like to hear what you thought of it: Was it a welcome breath of fresh air? Or Did you swear at us because you missed a valuable opportunity to tell the world about your new cryogenically treated rhodium plated spiked listening seat? Should we do it again next year? Should we do it more often? Should we write it off as an abject failure? Should we do it differently, or Should we do something else entirely?
What do you reckon folks? There's a poll too!

Bloody shame we had to go back to all the bickering about who's got the straightest wires and who owns the best boxes.

We Admins enjoyed it very much. A day of focussing on what it's all about - music - was not a bad thing to do and I perceive from the traffic that it generally went down well.

Yep, nice idea. I mostly post about music anyway. Recently at any rate.

Well I missed it all as I was away, but had a read through and there's more there that interests me than pretty much a years worth of gear posts!
So yes, good idea
