Remotes, like technology are very useful, and often a pain because of that when problems arise.
When they stop working, especially on old kit the remote can cost far more than the kit sells for.
Is there an easy way to obtain or fettle a cheap, good remote to fill the gap ?
Are there certain signals used by remotes that allow generics or substitutes to fill the gap ?
Panasonic TV remotes are easy to source and I managed to get a generic at around a tenner.
Currently trying out a Logitech 650 multi remote so far unsuccessfully, but I am one of the least technically able. Don't hold your breath.
The learning facility for kit *not* on the Logitech database is fine if your remote still works. Yet to try that.
Most of my kit is not on the Logitech database and I assume most hifi will not be either so hat should be loads of us in the same boat.
