So sorry to hear of your troubles Colin. Some great photos there though. I like the one of the car parked between two trees... How do you like the photo from my recent holiday, when I parked a car between one tree?

What's going on in the photo of the folks sliding down the mountainside in the baskets?

Lovely looking place, Colin. Sorry about the bad experiences, perhaps you should post in the 'what is wrong with these f***** morons' thread and get it off your chest?

Horrible about your wallet being stolen, but really good news that you had such a lovely holiday and some of those pictures are excellent

Sorry to read about your robbery Colin. Keeping cards etc on you whilst on holiday is a risky thing, but there are not many other options to choose from. As someone who was born in a part of the world where pickpockets were once ten to a dozen (now replaced by criminals who rather shoot you dead and then rob you) I have learnt a few tricks to reduce the chance of being robbed. The first thing is to have a jacket with an inside pocket that has a zip. Also walk with two wallets. One for small change, and the other for cards and big notes. Keep the small change one in your trouser pocket. Pickpockets don't look for a second wallet. They assume people on;y walk with one. I have been following these rules for decades and have never been robbed. Net even in the mids of the London carnival.

Keep at it Colin. Great pics.
Sometimes wonder how paranoid we have to be to avoid being turned over by thieves

When on holiday abroad we stick out as easy targets. Have a look at pictures of places like say Guyana online. You'll have a hard time finding many with a white face in sight these days. The reason is purely because of the dangers faced by white tourists. They stick out like sore thumbs, and are more likely to be robbed before their visit ends. It's a sad state of affairs that has hit the local tourist industry in the last twenty odd years, leaving many big hotels and casinos nearly empty for most of the year.

Blimey Colin, I think you must attract rotten luck. At least you got some terrific photos out of it, and some good memories along with the bad.

Somewhere I have not got around to visiting , looks a unique island , brilliant photos Colin .
Your opening post reads like a nightmare , I'm hoping you have some insurance to help out , I wouldn't have had I always get the cheapest as there always seems to be some small print to scupper things.

Insurance mmmm with the Post Office and guess what it does not cover stolen from person in the policy , cool get out eh. Now run by the same crooks that stole my wallet I bet. Oh the SAGA continues. The Romanian thief was caught in Madeira last week trying to buy £2,500 worth of jewellery, and the card was refused and the shoop keeper kept the card, the same day and a clone copy of the card was used again in another shop of bright shiny stones. But this time my friend Rui a nice policeman I mad friends with many year ago was in the shop of duty, he recognised my name, when the owner called this "customer" Mr Wonfor. Whoops so the Romanian crook was collared by the police and a good friend, thank you Rui and see you next year and diner. So one bandit less cool, and with no help from NatWest, as normal.

I lost faith in Natwest years ago and moved away from them as a consequence. Just a bunch of crooks.

Crikey Colin, the odds of that happening must be infinitesimal
