Actually, the three 'big sky' shots were Pentax ones too.

That's an awful lot of driving on your own, Chris. I wouldn't like that much without sharing.

Gosh, I'd love to do another road trip. Apart from Seattle, the most memorable one for me was in Namibia from Windhoek, the capital, north through the Namib desert to the Etosha Pan and further. Quite wonderful, and more examples of big sky vistas.

I am rather pleased with the shot above with the barn in the foreground. Yes it's superb but for sheer scenery the shot below is even better I think - amazing dynamic range. The way it holds the details of trees in foreground, sky and mountains in background is just stunning. I love those little lens flares too ...

Tuesday 12th JuneJust a short run is required to get to Yellowstone from Grand Teton, but it's still 130 miles to get to our digs for the night. A few more hours among the Tetons first though. We found a meadow where there was a herd of Pronghorn antelope feeding. The ladies were looking fine, with their best make up and eyelashes. And the gents were rather magnificent. ...which led to the odd rumble <iframe width="14.659999999999968" height="21.480000000000018" style="position: absolute; width: 14.659999999999968px; height: 21.480000000000018px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 5px; top: 37px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_77476474" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="14.659999999999968" height="21.480000000000018" style="position: absolute; width: 14.66px; height: 21.48px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 672px; top: 37px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_20526754" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="14.659999999999968" height="21.480000000000018" style="position: absolute; width: 14.66px; height: 21.48px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 1038px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_61665024" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="14.659999999999968" height="21.480000000000018" style="position: absolute; width: 14.66px; height: 21.48px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 672px; top: 1038px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_50230681" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Too hard to choose . . . . the first one would make a great country album cover though.

Update on the Yogi Situation:The previous evening to all this, we were driving very slowly down a quiet dirt track at the foot of the mountains at dusk and chanced to see the backside of a Brown bear disappearing behind a bush. Beyond that, there was a patch of extremely dense undergrowth, so he melted away very quickly. No chance for a photo and, as it was so close (between 10 and 15 metres) I wasn't getting out of the car to investigate! After a lunch in the woods by the side of the lake (spent somewhat nervously scouring the bush in the peripheral vision), we moved off towards the mighty Yellowstone. Lunchtime view
