So this is what a Naim salesman practices when he spots a potential customer, I always wondered!

No, that's what he does when the customer asks "where's the image?"

Sometimes you just can't help yourself. As soon as I read "supermassive" I thought "Eric Pickles..."

And so a fantastic bit of scientific discovery is somewhat reduced in significance... (and I was going to leave your football thread alone)

Truly astonishing times in astronomy just now - the discoveries and the science are just astounding. Looking forward to this new telescope being launched as well.
Amazed as well that this progress seems to have passed so many people by. Too busy watching Love Island I suppose.

Yup, fantastic advances in technology and knowledge. Black holes, gravitational lensing using galaxies themselves as telescopes, exo-planets. Wow. And yet we still are clueless about 90%+ of the universe --- dark matter, dark energy - pretty much total mysteries still despite billions being spent to understand them, and yet at larger scales they seem to dominate everything we observe. futurism.com/neil-degrasse-tyson-universe/

No. I'm happy to be an outside observer watching the current bunch struggle and squirm.

... I mean, crikey! - I can't even seem to use a keyboard, just look at the mess of my last post! I'd have no chance getting to grips with dark energy!

I am sure you would do fine! Sometimes it takes a slide rule trained brain to resolve what a super computer can't.

Slide rule? Abacus is more like it.
