Do we have any fans of Haydn here? I'm taking more interest in his works these days and am wondering what your Haydn top three might be?

I'm sure it will come as no surprise if I mention his two (authenticated) cello concertos. The Creation/Die Schöpfung has some marvelous moments. I've also got the piano sonatas, played by Brendel, and he plays them wonderfully.

Some wonderful music. String quartets. Piano sonatas and other music. Symphonies. Oratorios. Amazing music. My 3 favourite pieces are probably the Andante con variazione Hob xvii/6 a jaw droppingly amazing piano piece, and The Seasons oratorio (preferably the one on DG conducted by Karl Bohm), and the Seven Last Words - probably the string quartet version (there are lots of different versions!) although the piano version by Jando is wonderful. 4th place maybe to The Creation oratorio. Wow! Oh gosh, he wrote so much fine music.

I have the Nelson Mass and some piano sonatas and that's it.
I'm ready to be educated.
