Today I treated the rest of my system contacts with the Mad Scientist enhancer, including my power regenerator internal fuses and external fuse. The only thing left to do is remove all iec connectors and treat the cable terminals inside them, but that’s a big awkward job.

I'm glad it's bringing you a nice upgrade. l plan to have a bash at making my own mix, once my Graphene arrives from Ukraine....Honestly !
Having used Graphene Oxide in Rustins, it sounds likes the Graphene Oxide behaves the same,in regards to spreading over a surface. .
Anyway l am looking forward to giving it a go.

I got the PMC’s back today and gave them the Mad Scientist Graphene treatment. I’ve had them up and running a couple of hours now and they are sounding good. I presume the caps will take some time to settle in too?
I was very impressed by the thorough and very knowledgeable service provided by Hifi Hospital here in Ireland.

Last nights project was to open up my Dac and apply some Mad Scientist Graphene contact enhancer. Untitled by , on Flickr I treated all the power connections on the incoming 230v and each transformer primary and secondary winding connections onto circuit boards. Untitled by , on Flickr

Excellent Matt, So what does it sound like now?
Wow...l came out in a sheilding rash, looking at all those unshielded cables 🤣

Excellent Matt, So what does it sound like now? Wow...l came out in a sheilding rash, looking at all those unshielded cables 🤣 Music sounds more lifelike with more inner detail. I was tempted to tape the cables but unsure if my tape would be suitable as it may be conductive. Any thoughts?

Of course..Your totally correct being worried. But if you take your time, apply copper tape, then either insulation tape or heatsrink over the copper your be okay.
l can see you got a lot of wires going on inside, so you would have to take a closer look and be patient.
Good result with the Graphene,l getting closer to my own mix, just need too increase the Graphene ratio a bit more. As you stated, it's a bit of a job to work in the surface, and although your working in the Black Graphene,l believe its the stuff that we can't see at microscopic level that works into the metal surface.

I will look into the shielding next time I get some time to open the Dac.
I look forward to your Graphene enhancer. Graphene is definitely a game changer in Hifi.

When I opened up my DSP to apply the Graphene to the internal Dc fuse a week or 2 ago, I noticed the capacitor adjacent to the fuse was slightly domed and bulging. I found some decent quality ones with the right ratings and a high life expectancy at the specified 105degC. The Capacitors arrived today, so I dismantled the BSS fds334T DSP and got the soldering iron out. It was a successful operation. I’ve gained bass that I’ve been missing for a couple of months. I thought the loss of bass was possibly just a tightening of bass after the speaker repairs, or their new parts needing burn in time or just my imagination, but I’ve got the bass power back that initially took me by surprise when I bought these speakers.

The latest test subject is another AliExpress cable. I’ve thought about upgrading the XLR cable between my Dac and DSP for a while, but having only achieved small gains(compared to fuses and power cables) in the past with interconnects, I’ve held off for a long time.
In previous systems I’ve tried cheap interconnects, Ps Audio, Nordost and Van den hul cables. In my current system and since having active speakers I’ve only ever tried Pro Audio cables from Gotham, Mogami and Evidence Audio. The Evidence Audio Lyric HG are a solid core ‘High end’ pro cable, but still very reasonably priced, particularly compared to Audiophile cables and give a nice but subtle uplift in performance over the others. I use them between Dac and DSP and DSP and speakers.
So, I decided after lots of forum reading and review reading on AliExpress to try an ‘Audioquest Thunderbird’. I bought a 0.5m length and it arrived on Friday. I chose the Thunderbird as it’s a copper cable. This cable has completely changed my opinion on interconnect cables and seems to have amplified every upgrade I’ve made in the last 6-7 months. I really didn’t think the Lyric HG was a bottleneck and now I’m wondering what replacing the XLR’s to my speakers would bring. This isn’t easily achievable though as my cable to the right speaker are routed through the fireplace.

I've just replaced the ifi filter plug in my consumer unit with a Kemp SNS. Ill see what effect this has and then try the ifi elsewhere. Untitled by Matt Hoyle, on Flickr

Hang on How did you plug that in to the Consumer unit ? I installed a DIN rail mounted Schuko socket into the consumer unit as the first socket on the ring main.
