Every time I have heard a good system with JBL speakers in it, there has been that unforced, take it in it's stride sound that Martin describes - What? Make m-u-s-i-c? Yeah, I can do that, no problem. Here you go! I'll take it over the Tannoy sound (for example) in a moment. I've mixed on both Tannoy and JBL one Studio I worked in had a choice of 4433As or 15"HPDs in Lancasters, TBH I liked the Tannoys more but I used the JBLs quite a lot. The 4429s have that classic easy driving, very detailed and punchy JBL sound and matched ito the room well will kick.

I’ve never heard big Tannoys or JBL’s but would like to, especially Horns.
