Best - Led Zeppelin in 1979, 16 (nearly 17) years old with my mates, what a weekend! Worst - Whitney Houston - present for my wife (girlfriend at the time) but seats were garbage and couldn't see anything.

Blimey, that's a tough one . . . really tough! Best: 'Kate Bush' - Before the Dawn. Picked this because it was such a monumental event. Worst: 'Little Big Town' last weekend. Well I say the worst, hard to tell really, certainly the shortest walk out - got half way through the first song before heading to the bar. They started with a cover of Elton Johns Rocket Man, I got as far as the forth verse "A rocket man, a rocket man"
Then it was . . .

Not sure what is worst. Been quite a few I actually walked out from. One that stands out was Rainbow at Wembley when Ritchie decided not to do a encore. Best gigs I have a few. Sorry not able to narrow it down Diamond Head Woolwich Odeon The night after the Woolwich riots. For those that dared to go a truly memorable concert Dream Theater at the Marquee. Saw them both nights Surinder Sandhu at the Jazz Café. Really tight band Music that took me on a journey Zero Hour Live at the Headway Festival Amazing chops from hell The Hellcasters at the Mean Fiddler Birelli Lagrene at the Royal Festival Hall I had the best seat in the house and at the time was a huge fan The Dirty Three at the Underworld

Non-classical...
Best: Goldfrapp, The Hexagon Reading Worst: Bob Dylan, Earl's Court (I think)
Classical...
Best: Mahler Symphony No. 2, Rattle, Festival Hall Worst: Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3, Albert Hall (not the concert's fault, we were sat right next to the organ!!)

Gigs cancelled and lots of aggro post the Bill Grundy interview. I'd have loved to have seen them. In fact who's seen them and any comment?

Best: Eric Clapton’s 70th Birthday Concert Worst: Whitesnake Whitesnake were so bad it was embarrassing, Dave Coverdale was as pissed as a fart and kept slurring, oh and the volume was so loud you couldn't hear any detail whatsoever, just sounded like a bunch of drunk old men screaming. We ended up going to get food until Def Leppard came on as they were on second in a joint concert and who I went to see ultimately. They were in a completely and totally different league.

Disliked David Coverdale as had a girlfriend who really fancied him back in the day and would always chat about him. So being a typical man got to really dislike him

He was just behaving like a drunk dirty old man at this concert, my wife was with me and was astounded! The amount of young girls still throwing themselves at him was still remarkable.

So many good ones. One of the very best - Neil Young at Hammersmith Odeon as was One of the worst and a big disappointment - Neil Young Wembley. Him and Nils Lofgren being silly. Transformer man time I think If festivals count as one gig.... Shepton Mallet 1971 (or 70 ?) So many wonderful bands, such a great time Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music
"Michael Eavis was attendant at the festival and was inspired to hold later that year the first event of what would become the Glastonbury festival of contemporary performing arts."

That reminds me of one of the best concerts I went to which was setup by Kerrang in Hyde Park. There were so many good bands on, and it was headlined by the Foo Fighters who were one of my favourites back then. Brian May and Roger Taylor were brought on stage at one point as special guests and played with the Foo Fighters, it was very good.

Best - Find this one really difficult. Perhaps the 40th anniversary concert of The Tallis Scholars at St Paul’s Cathedral. Heavenly music, choir and venue.
Worst - Motley Crue at the ‘temporary’ Wembley Arena. Started early without telling anyone, sound was atrocious, seats about a mile away and video screens were only on the stage. Totally crap Las Vegas style show with the obligatory tittycam … imagine the rest.

That suprises me actually. I've seen Whitesnake twice in fairly recent years and thoroughly enjoyed it on both occasions - DC on great form, very professional throughout! Great band too, he always picks talented musicians. I appreciate it isn't everyone's cuppa though.

I have seen them at another Whitesnake/Def Leppard show and they were excellent, I think maybe he was just having a bad day/too drunk, either way he/they were just terrible on that occasion.

If festivals count as one gig.... In that case, Knebworth 1975. Pink Floyd, Roy Harper, Captain Beefheart, Steve Miller, Linda Lewis.
