CRAP THREAD ALERT! Can't remember the name of this thing and I'm going to wrassle with posting a photo. However,it's a power conditioner,it costs £12 on eBay and it doesn't strangle the sound quality. I don't notice any sq difference using it and I feel better for the protection it offers. For those who are sceptical or Scottish(read financially aware) it might be worth trying. If I can find a link I'll add it. flic.kr/p/23Zk8dT

How does these perform with power amps ? I have read previously that power conditioners obviously dependent on type /cost can tend to strangle the dynamics , but for the price may be worth worth a punt . Any thoughts anyone ?

I generally would not recommend series filters with power amps, but I can't comment on that specific device.

Another bargain thanks guys , recently bought one of these and it definitely works on my kit and out performs a RA silencer I have which does seem to squash the dynamics somewhat . I tried it initially on my power amp but could nt hear any difference at all but it has worked well on the mains lead powering my mains block which powers my tranport dac etc
Previously I have never really paid much attention to the mains but a couple of recent inexpensive tweaks this Maintrab filter and also installing numerous ferrite chokes has really cleaned up the sound . It just makes me wonder what a regenerator could do for my system ?

....It just makes me wonder what a regenerator could do for my system ? A lot more than filters would, I think (I use an AG1500 myself) but again not for the power amp.

Yes I have looked at the Power Inspired gear , prices are right particularly if an AG500 would be good enough for my DAC and transport, not at the moment though holiday taking priority but something for the future , thanks
