I have some QED Silver Anniversary speaker cable that I’d be interesting in trying out in my system, but was wondering whether they are compatible with my Exposure amps?
I am aware that the generation of my Exposure amps have to have specific types of cable, which is I think to do with thickness or something or other or you can damage the amps, so want to be as cautious as possible.

Even if you can, are you sure you really want to, Paul? Fearsome things, them qed SA cables.

A touch bright, to be sure. Could cut glass at 30 paces!

I found out this is the spec for QED Silver Anniversary.
Ind .51uh/meter and 42 pf/meter.
I just thought as I had some spare that I would give it a whirl and compare it to the Exposure cable I currently use.
However everything you guys have said, maybe I won't bother, I don't want any brighter sound!

Just imagine if you used that cable with naim / chord amps into a pair of SL2's the need for for plasma cutter for the metalwork would be negated!
I have been informed that SA makes a passable tow rope if that helps Paul?

Shows how much I know about cables, I always thought QED made good stuff. What's the saying, you learn something new everyday?

They have made good affordable stuff but SA is one product that has a very bad reputation. Some people equate brighter with more detailed. Some companies don't produce good product as they once did. If you heard the latest Mission at the Bristol Show that is only too obvious. A lot to do with change in ownership and living on the brand name.

Oh yes, the Mission room was the one of the worst by far at Bristol. The other was PMC, I quite liked their previous OB, GB, FB range but their latest range are just horrible, but people still seem to fall over themselves for them.

Depends on what you pair it with re how it sounds, as Classicrock said, bright/detailed are not always the same. I had some with a pair of Monitor Audio GR60's and Musical Fidelity gear. I found it fatiguing to listen to for long periods, but I also wasn't a huge fan of the MA sound in those days, which has since improved with their ribbon tweeter speakers. Still not my cup of tea totally though, more style over substance for my tastes. Having said that I have Monitor Audio Bronze 2's as my temporary speakers at the moment and they sound pretty OK with Rega gear, certainly better than no music at all I would try it though Paul, always good to try stuff if you have it to hand, expands the knowledge on what we like and don't like - we are all different as is oft said. But I don't know many people who rave about it anymore - it was one of those What Hi-Fi must have upgrades at the time and they sold it by the bucket load. BUT, that Mission room sounded shocking. I think everyone who heard it has commented and nobody liked it, so that's something we all agree on - a rare thing in music and Hi-Fi!

Other than the What Hifi reccys, I've only heard shock/horror reviews of this stuff. I'd still be curious to try it though, especially if I owned some. If I was Paul, I'd be plumbing it in and trying the stuff, even if it only reaffirms just how good your current cable is it will have been worth it,
