The SMSL has a credibility problem in both the size and the price.
How can it be that good, (any good) ?!
It very much that good. What a funny world we live in

Tough on them Reconnected. Played The Damned - Love song as it was there and I like it anyway. Sounds good 3 RDC cones with the 2 part bases. Sounds better ! Granite placemat on top, way bigger than the amp itself Sounds better still ! Cheap, minor tweaks make it sound even better

Shenzhen is where the main factory is for the company I worked for in China. It's a mahoosive manufacturing area, population of over 12 million most of whom are in manufacturing or some kind of business. Traffic is horrendous, you think we have traffic problems here! Mind you the Chinese are very safe, experienced and considerate drivers, so that's OK The Pearl River Delta area apparently accounts for 7 out of 10 of all the world shoes, I think China makes over 13 billion a year, India accounts for around 2 billion, the rest of the world has numbers only in the millions. Tis' big buisness there . . . it's interesting fact day today

The Chinese clips on Car Crash Global and others seem to have the opposite view of Chinese drivers

Haha, that was me being sarcastic again Mike. I used to shit a brick every time I had to go to the factory, really quite a scary car ride.

Got it Tim. Should have made myself clearer.
One of the places I would not like to travel by road. Some of the clips are jaw dropping

Every time I think of China, I am reminded of Karl Pilkington's visits on "An Idiot Abroad". Some absolutely priceless moments.

Not seen that. Don't have Sky. I am often amazed watching documentaries in other countries. Almost any other country. China is certainly one of them and such a big big country

No granite placemat, but I do have one of these sitting on top of mine, Mike. How does yours sound now, after the tweaking?

Sounds good as above and below* PSU left on and sounded good this morning.
One thing I'm struggling with. The remote doesn't work well. Sometimes not at all. Buttons not jammed down What clues ?
*Played The Damned - Love song as it was there and I like it anyway. Sounds good 3 RDC cones with the 2 part bases. Sounds better ! Granite placemat on top, way bigger than the amp itself Sounds better still !

DOH! Somehow I read that line as Cheap, minor tweaks *WILL * make it sound even better, and wondered what else you'd done . As you were. My remote works perfectly so I'm afraid I can't be much help on that front. The only thing that comes to mind is that you've got a duff battery or battery connection.

Bad news The remote decides when it works Would it be worth contacting the vendor do you think, Mike? They might be inclined to send a replacement. If you don't try...etc. blah blah blah...

Yes, why not ? Does yours work perfectly ? Yup, perfectly. I read all I could find on the Q5 before I bought mine and if it was a common fault I'd expect to have seen it mentioned.
