Bought mine second hand and through Martin at Audio Note(very nice bloke, extremely helpful) ascertained they are an early pair. 3rd June 1993 to be exact. Superb speakers. Love them. They work very well in corners, which is important to me,and respond well to bi wiring. I didn't bother with this due to the hype but it's what Audio Note recommend so I thought I'd give it a whirl using studio spares 4x2.5mm cable. 8 metres - £20 delivered. Delighted, absolutely delighted. Cannot rate these highly enough and if anyone else needs info on their Audio Note kit Martin is an absolute gent to deal with.

AN speakers tend to be transparent and make a good soundstage, so I can understand how pleased you are with them.

Aye nice. Lot to be said for wide range drivers and no crossover.

Yeah,I would agree Martin T - they don't add anything just reproduce the music as it should be.
My experience with kit is very limited though so my opinions aren't really worth much.

Have you tried pure silver, Chris?

FAR too expensive and IMO the gains wouldn't justify the price. This cable is silver plated, very high spec and very good value. Makes a lot of sense to me.
I don't think I'd even waste my time trying pure silver for the above reasons. Betchya it would be nice though!!

I also bought this cable after Chris was kind enough to let me borrow his set. I think it's utterly fab. I'm pretty sure you bought those Audio Note Ks from me, Chris. I remembered your details when I sent the cables back. I thought they were excellent speakers which worked fabulously with Exposure amps as well as valves.

Small world eh! Delighted I bought those speakers - I've had offers on them but they're not going anywhere! Lovely bit of kit.
Hope you are well!

I'm really glad they found a loving home. They were brilliant with Audio innovations amps, but I Really loved them on the end of an Exposure Dual IV. They are a speaker that squeezes every last drop of life and emotion from music.

They were brilliant with Audio innovations amps I remember hearing them playing The Race by Yello, driven by the Audio Innovations amps, and revelling in their vividness and sheer excitement. That memory has never left me and I use the track frequently as one of my measures of performance.

My first listen with them was also to "The Race". I heard Ks and Js with a Voyd and a series 500. It was so gripping it made a huge and lasting impression. I've been a big Yello fan ever since.
