Title says it all really... If you can I shall make it easy and worthwhile for you. A lift is no problem,or I can come to you, times can suit you and I'm a bloody good cook so expect to be well fed and filled with beer/good tea(I'm a tea snob,I'm afraid) or coffee. Can do cash as well if that's preferable. I have a good Fluke multimeter and electrical screwdrivers also. Quite fancy learning how to do this - any takers?

Yes I loved it there, I still have a Aunt and Uncle there, and family in Alloa and friends in Dunfermline, my family are from Inverness. Met my Scottish Wife in Somerset, married in Dunfermline, she is from Brig O Turk. Worked for 7 start ups companies in Fife as a consultant then to Glenrothes and Hughes Microelectronic, then seconded to NASA. So were are you Ali? we go back home 3 - 6 times a year maybe we could meet and chat?

Many thanks for the kind replies gents - much appreciated. The amp in question is an Affordable Valve Company EL34 using 6CA7s. It's well biased as it is(Colin Hood Audio did this for me) however my ignorance annoys me so I would like to learn. Tell ya what as well, this is a cracking amplifier. Not to be underrated. Eduardwobblechops(fantastic handle) much appreciated. Just let me know how you would like to go about this and we will get organised. It'll be nice to meet someone from here in real life as well!

Cool, be interested in hearing the amp. I currently have a couple of valve amps - A pair of WAD 300b PSE monoblocks, and also a WAD KEL84.
I take it you have the info on the amp for the correct bias settings?
I'll PM my address.

Outstanding day mate. Really good. I should have updated this but it got sidetracked into the interesting day thread.
Eduardwobblechops not only gave up his Saturday afternoon, but he showed great patience and kindness. He talked me through the inside of the amp and showed me round all his bits of kit. Some of his valves are just stupendous! He really knows his stuff and I was lucky to get to hear his amps and all of this was very interesting for me as none of my pals are into hifi so my experience with different kit is very limited. I can't speak highly enough of the guy.

Yeah he certainly is! Haven't had a chance to get the amp up n running as I'm in Aberdoom practicing putting out fires on a crashed helicopter. Home later today though so hopefully get it wired up then.
