I am with Tim on this one. Some of the tracks were interesting choices but the performances left me wondering why.

As I'm sure we've all said at one time or another, it would be a very boring world if we all liked the same thing, and your review of my choice has nothing to do with the fact that my marking of your next choice will start at minus five.

Catching up on my duties.....
Know TD quite well. Don't know this at all and not keen on the vocals. TD doing vocals (?)
Bit MOR for me and them. Radio 2 maybe Will vote when I've heard it all.
T2 - would not think this was TD
<later> Not for me at all. Why did they do it ?

I think we can safely say that this one has divided opinions, gentlemen, but why would I choose an album that everyone is pretty much guaranteed to like? That's just plain boring. Not so much Tangerine Dream as Marmite Dream.

Interesting, I still find myself listening to this album's Precious, a few times per week. It is in a Spotify playlist that gets okayed on shuffle and this song pops up often, and I never reach to change it.
I've never heard the original Depeche Mode song, but if I did it might take away from my enjoyment of this version.

It's Cry Little Sister for me, there's something about that song, the vocals and TD's treatment of it that sits well with me.

I still love the way that this album has divided opinion right down the middle. You know we always say "it's a good job not everyone likes the same thing," or something along those lines? This must be the album that exemplifies that sentiment.

Wow, I still have the track 'Precious' on rotation.
Something crazy happened today. At home by myself, this track came on during a spotify shuffle and the opening moments of 'Precious' which I like a lot got my mind soaring. I restarted the track a few times to keep relistening to the first minute or so and then I just let it play. Lol. And the vocalist began his verse and within seconds I was crying. Hard. So hard I wasn't making a sound. I'm sorry to post this guys. Everything is fine. This is just something that happens to a person once in a great while.
I'm not a cryer I went nearly two decades without crying (not that is healthy or tough it's better to cry) . But it's been the loss of a loved one almost two years ago, they didn't pass away they are just not in my life so much anymore and it's someone I cared for dearly and that's OK. These things happen. It's natural.
Honestly my post here isn't about me or life it's actually to shed light on how powerful music can be sometimes. Hearing the vocals today somehow was too much for me.
Has anyone ever experienced such a powerful reaction to music?
Ive gotten goose bumps before, I've gotten choked up before but only 2 years ago when the loss was fresh that music could do this to me.
Sorry about this everything is fine it was just a moment.

Certain songs will trigger me quite powerfully. If I hear Baum Schlafengehen it's hard not to feel huge sadness at remembering my departed wife of 37 years of age back in 1999. Others take me back to a youth lost in time. Songs can do that with memories and I totally understand your feelings.
You don't need to be sorry, sometimes it's a good thing to let it out.

Thanks Martin, you've mentioned the passing of her a few times I've always remembered it. I can't know what that's like. I hope you have some peace now, if that's possible.

I hope you have some peace now, if that's possible. Peace, yes, but the sadness never goes away.

Harry Chapin's "Mr Tanner" does it for me, and Ballad of Easy Rider. Rod Stewart's "The First Cut is the Deepest," was a favourite of my late wife's, and I had it played at her funeral, so that was added to the list.

Thank you so much for sharing these stories guys. Thinking about it makes me wonder how it must be a very unique type of sadness/pain when losing a spouse. It's like you shared something/moments that only two people (you and that person) will ever know existed.
I hope not to cross the line here in anyway believe me I take these stories very seriously.
It is such an interesting and profound experience this life.
Well anyway this was a worthwhile Album choice as some of the songs have stayed with me.
And I'll be looking up, the songs and artists mentioned in the last few posts just out of curiosity.
