And the weatherman lied (quote from which song by which artist??) They told me it would be 37 degrees out there. Well it int, its 39 degrees. The cats are all panting and trying to find shade. Eventually they will discover its much better inside. In here its quite cool but then thats why we have metre thick walls on the house and shutters. Just checked the ducks and chickens and had to fill up their water bowls for the third time. Their only shade is under their houses, inside they are like ovens as they are only T&G with tin roofs. I cannot imagine what it must be like darn sarf. Lobster time I reckon.

We're sticky here - I have the office fan on. Looking forward to some serious currant bun next month. I can't remember when I last needed a holiday this badly

Nowt to do with the temperature but I've just had a delivery man at the door and.... its my new passport. Seventeen days it took door to door, France to Uk and back again. I don't know if the fact that we pre-paid on line makes a difference but I thought they had a backlog of half a million or something

Got 33 degrees here which is a little more bearable, certainly after a couple of Jenlain beers for the chaps and Chardonnay Colombard for the laydees,
Cheers, Alan

I've got 32 on the thermometer in the shade in our patio garden here in London but it is bounded by four white painted walls which probably pushes things up a bit from the Met Office standard. I'm inside in the basement with the dog. Too hot for man or beast...

It was 27.5 today, and that's 7.5 above my maximum operating temperature.
Mutter, mutter, bring on winter...

Stupid warm in Edinburgh as well. Total killer for the mutt who needs careful watching in this heat. He gets ice packs and a paddling pool.

Our dogs like lying in the sun (!) If we forced them to go there we could be done
Then they realise this is a bad idea and go into the shade
Later on, guess what ?

It's absolutely glorious here. Best day of the year. A spectacular thunderstorm in the night has refreshed the air, so its baking but not stifling. Now a light breeze has got up - not a cloud in a glorious blue sky. 70 or 80 more days like this a year and I might not be in such a rush to move to France

A spectacular thunderstorm last night hardly brought any respite at all. It remained muggy all night.

Try a Velux window or similar in the roof.
Really makes a difference for us

Anything much over 25c is too much for me , so the current 30c muggy weather has me in 'mardy mode'.

There was me thinking it was cool inside.... ...every day, I try and do at least half an hour on the bike. Much too hot out there for the real thing so its the exercise bike with some nice pacey music playing. Blurry 'ell its 'ot Two towels later I am still dripping on the keyboard. How do you get beef fat out of the little grooves?

We're having a bit of a storm just now. Actually the most spectacular I've ever seen here in yalding. (I've seen this good in the dordogne. We'll probably be off air soon. For days
