If you ever get a puppy make sure it doesn't come from one of these hell holes.
There are still too many puppy mills in the UK and they are also imported from other countries Health and life expectancy not good with this sort of start
Best is to go to your local rescue centre and home an older dog of course !

I'm a little bit confused by these "uk puppy mills"
keeping dogs in those conditions in the uk is illegal . Thus if you were able to knowingly purchase a dog from one , then the best course of action would be to keep the dog [ as you have taken the puppy away from a horrible existence to a life with a loving family ] and then report the seller to the police .

Puppy Mills need so be closed down
They exist in the UK Dogs are also imported from puppy mills overseas
A lot of people will not know their lovely little friend comes from a puppy mill.

Visit the breeder when you buy the pup. I would never do it any other way, unless it was a rescue dog.

A good breeder will also insist on vetting you and your family to assess your suitability for a - the type of dog in question and b - the specific pup itself if you are deemed worthy. They will also keep you up to date with said pups progress as well as providing 5 generations of lineage by way of a KC pedigree. You should also get to spend time with the parents as this gives a good indication as to the nature of the pup.
If anyone is serious about Alaskan Malamutes feel free to ask me about them.
Puppy farmers are scum and should be shot with shit at close range.

Agreed. My Jake has a pedigree literally as long as your arm, both parents British field trial champions. Have a pic of his dad on the cover of the Shooting Times. Not that he's a working dog with us, just a much beloved pet.

I agree How then is a prospective puppy purchaser to know ? Very difficult if you are talking to a bare faced liar Stuns me how much puppies are sold for and this makes it such a great scam to be in. Breed the life out of some poor dogs, produce weak and/or sick offspring, make £100s and £1000s From my experience of dogs it is best to have an older one, preferably more than one !

I had a Staff for years and looking through a book and checking his pedigree,I could recognise his great, great, great grandfather who was pictured in it!
He was an ace dog,a real cracker.

We almost had a Staffie. Felt so sorry for him being 2 years at Battersea and almost no sight. We have a big garden with a fence around and 5 'guides' to help him around Took our contentious dogs for a meet to make sure there was no war, assumed he would come home with us. Nope PC gone totally mad Battersea said our pack was 'too dependent' and a problem because of their robust behaviour - just dog like. Since then we lost 2 through old age and have 2 new brother and sister JR/Chihuahuas. We had a small version of WW3 a couple of times. Now we have a close pack of 5.
Staffies are good dogs

We knew we were doing him a favour and glad to. Who the hell wants a mostly blind Staffie ?!
Spoke to another employee we knew at Battersea afterwards who couldn't apologise enough
