I've just taken delivery of an excellent 3-port HDMI switcher from China. I wanted to be able to switch between two HDMI inputs (Sky HD & Blu-ray) into the TV, but also to receive digital sound back from the TV via ARC (Audio Return Channel). This allows me to listen to things I send to the TV via my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (from my tablet), such as YouTube and Netflix, via the AV system's DAC rather than using TV sound. It also means just ONE HDMI cable to the TV for everything, including the ARC digital sound return. Very nice, and cost me less than £30. Caution: your TV needs to have at least one ARC enabled HDMI input.

I am thinking about getting the new Sky wonder box and ditching my Surround Sound system components, so one of these HDMI switches would come in useful as the Sky box only comes with one HDMI cable as far as I can see.

Works an absolute treat with Sky and Blu-ray players and Netflix over the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. Very pleased with the smart little box. Slinger I didn't think of that
