Auralic Vega
Bel Canto Ref 1000s (Coherent modified)
Focal 1028 Be
Missing Link Cryo Ref cables throughout

Cheers Chris, Fairly stable for the time being as my spare cash is being eaten up by two young kids... As and when I do change I suspect a move up from the Aries Mini to a full-fat Aries may be the order of the day as a) I’m impressed with the Mini; and b) to make a meaningful step up in performance on the rest of my system would require quite a bit more £. |

Hi Mike, I’m pretty open to most genres to be honest. With a decent streaming front-end now and a hard drive library which includes some contributions from various friends and family I’m trying out a few new things these days, so very much open to suggestions and recommendations |

Hi Iain and welcome to TAS! I've heard good things about the Auralic so do tell us more. Hi Martin and thanks. Re the Auralic stuff I’m very impressed with both the Mini and Vega. The Mini is great value for money, with a good interface and great technical support from Auralic who are constantly applying updates to the UI. The Vega is a great sounding DAC and also does a pretty good job as a pre-amp as well. Femto clocks, Class A output and 4 different filters means it has a nice bit of warmth to the sound but also the ability to tweak it depending on either the music you’re listening to or your own personal preference. I’ve heard it against the top spec Antelope Zodiac and personally preferred it. At current second hand prices I’d also say it’s a bit of a bargain. |
