Damn. She has, very nicely, bought me wireless headphones. Now,I know it's good of her and I should be greatful, but I bloody wish she hadn't. Theyve a transmitter which is beaming the electrical noises very quietly through them. A wired pair would've been better. Damn,I can't listen to these. Too much background noise.
They sound ok apart from that! Sony MDR RF811RK.
What should i do? I'm going to have to tell her and change them but I don't want to hurt her feelings.

I guess it's not that much different from receiving a faulty gift. You could always say that wireless phones don't work in all locations and some homes are less suitable than others, no way of knowing until you try. At least you've had the opportunity and can now exchange them for something wired.

As Andrew says, and thank her for the gift which you respect as you'll be swapping them for other headphones.

As Andrew says, and thank her for the gift which you respect as you'll be swapping them for other headphones. My Wife bought me the Greg Lake book when it came out. I totally did not want it & sent it back swapped it for something else. She was not too happy but came around.. This why i categorically tell her not to buy me presents of value.

Ok then the 'K52' sound better than the 'K72' to me however the 'K92' are nicer. They are not a bright Headphone tho.. Going cheap at the mo..

Yeah, one stupid bit cardboard is missing from the packaging and that's their reason for not doing a refund.
Utterly unreasonable

Am I right in assuming you're just asking to return them because they're an unwanted gift? If that's the case, and you've got the receipt then take 'em back and lie. Try telling Argos that they're not fit for purpose because they cut out in half of the rooms in your house. They probably won't pop round to check.
