Ok, simple question: Who's your choice and why?

Best person, or the person who defined it?

I'd left it open to choice.

I’m asking who you’d pick as the man or woman of the year, it can be the most influential or the best. Either way, the person who has stood out most for you in 2017.

I can't think of any politician or entertainer who has covered themselves in glory this year.
I would give it to Neil deGrasse Tyson for continuing to educate people in astronomy and science and for writing the excellent book Astrophysics for People in a Hurry which he released this year.

I've seen so little news this year and my awareness doesn't really extend much beyond Trump and Brexit. I don't follow sports other than UFC, so not many notables there. Conor McGregor has been a bit OTT since his boxing foray, but still a great achievement to cross over and become such a big star. Considering his rise from obscurity to a point beyond his sport, I'll still pick him.

I was reading earlier that perhaps it should be Trump, because he has done three great things this year:
Reinvogorated journalism Given a new life to the art of satire Revived feminism

He's certainly been memorable. Without him it would've been a bloody dull year. I have a feeling he will do a lot more next year too.

For better, or worse - and by that I obviously mean worse - It has to be Donald Trump a.k.a. Agent Orange a.k.a. Forrest Trump.

What i fear for this country is it being robbed of it true identity. USA well it pretty much whats its made up of.
We are a supreme country i used to be proud of being British & upheld everything it stood for. One thing that is hacking me off is buying none British products.
