iPadOS 15.7 has a few known severe vulnerabilities. You want to get it up to iPadOS 16 as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, removing old devices from compatibility is just part of Apple's forced upgrade game.

Unfortunately, removing old devices from compatibility is just part of Apple's forced upgrade game. iPadOS 16 should be landing sometime this month, and sadly it looks like I was correct and my iPad Mini will not accept it.

Just sold my wife's Gen 1 iPad - couldn't believe they still have much value!

Boss's grand daughter had her iPad upgraded by her dad Now unusable So the boss wants to give away her old one, but she can't find it. Best guess is she binned it with some magazines !!!!
I offered the one I use rarely Oh not that's far too old !
For a 7 year old
Probably a good idea to sell mine

We still use an iPad 1 with one of the camera systems at work (vie CamRanger). It forms a local network with the device and provides live-view on a system that would not otherwise have it. It does not see the outside world anymore and so has no idea that no ones loves it any more (except us of course)!
