I don't mind my modern equipment, it has a certain beauty of function. However, I listen to it rather than look at it. For that reason, I wouldn't change a single component for anything else.

With Vintage equipment its both the sound it gives & certainly the look because Equipment back in the 60's they really did have a design aesthetic.. something modern Gear lacks

Agreed, but I admire good engineering so as long as it looks well made I'm happy.

Build quality of modern stuff can be good, but it tends to be high-end. Not much impresses me at the sort of prices you used to be able to buy battleship build for. I think it's been made much worse by the March of technology and the drop in real traditional hifi users buying new. If you build something well today, it's usually a low volume item, so manufacturing costs are relatively high. It also usually sells via "boutique" retailers who want a bigger slice of the pie.
Very little that's been made since the early 90s interests me. My era was the 80s, but I'm still learning about the 60s and 70s era bits. Things like Devialet leave me absolutely cold. Same with anything computer related, anything Chinese and everything AV.

There is one thing I would really like and its a Yamaha A-S2100 amp , it has that vintage look but with a bit of modern day quality , of course there is a A-S 3000 but that is out of my price range . I need to sell to buy and I've got a great amp so its not happening.....yet.

They look close to the 70's models like they intend but dont sound like them. Trouble is those 70's are getting pricey
