Anyone else, logging on to TAS with a MAC computer getting alerts that they have been infected with a Trojan and Viruses after visiting the site?
It's happened to me twice this week when reading and posting in "General Chat!"

Thank you for validating my Apple-phobia
I realise Microsoft and Windows are a magnet for virus and trojans, but I am pleased to report nothing showing on my PC
If you will have a Mac...

Nothing here, Steve.
What AV are you using on the Mac? Are you using an Ad blocker?

I realise Microsoft and Windows are a magnet for virus and trojans Not at work, the Windows 10 installations are remarkably robust. We clear up about half a dozen Macs a week, however.

Unfortunately they do Mike. Never as many as when i used a PC, then again i aint computer savy, so always think its my lack of understanding which is a big part of the problem. Though of late i have advanced to using 2 fingers on the keyboard.

Nothing here, Steve. What AV are you using on the Mac? Are you using an Ad blocker? McAfee anti-virus. Don't know about an ad-blocker. I got a very loud alert sound and a message saying that my Mac had been infected with Malware and Phishing/Spyware and encouraging me to "Scan Now" which I always ignore. There was also a message warning me not to turn off my computer, which I always do if I get one of the blasted messages on screen. I then did a full scan, which found no threats! It just surprised me on TAS, that's all!

It could be a false alarm, especially if you're not using an Ad blocker as your AV will be responding to the Ads.
Your bigger problem is using McAfee. Isn't he in prison by now? He's certainly on the run.
Think of using Sophos Free AV for Mac.

It's not an official thing IMO - just now and again I somehow get re-directed to a spam site claiming my computer is infected.
This is nothing to do with Macs vs PC's, let's not go down that road again.

I’ve had it and it’s one of those redirected notices trying to get you to download their crappy software to clear it (or more likely infect it). I just close down Safari, and then reopen and it’s gone.

What i have noticed is the Logo at the top [Please contribute to Album Choice! ] flashes that onto a just a plain logo of the Opera search engine i use when refreshing the pages. Just for a split second. However i find it hard to believe that Apple would encounter any issues being the perfect OS

It's not happening on Windows 10 machines, I have several.
More to the point, ProBoards run thousands of forums and are strict about keeping their hosting clean. It could be an improperly vetted ad doing it, which is why I asked about ad blocking.

I have ad blocking on my Mac, Martin but it still happens every so often, I just close down the page or Safari altoghether and it disappears. I don’t believe it’s a virus, more likely a ad like you said, I get them on my iPad now and again, but again just ignore them.

Bad advice, Andr'e. A well updated Windows 10 computer is a stable and safe one.
