You know the ones?
So far today...
The telly remote has gone up the swannee, various odd buttons have just decided to stop doing anything, so that's probably the keyboard matrix and totally non-fixable. Ordered a replacement.
One of the house DECT landline phones has shuffled off this mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible. (Yes, it is fully charged. No it is not pining for the fjords) Ordered a replacement.
PSU in a computer went *phut!" Ordered a replacement.
DAC on the second system decided it didn't like locking to the selected input. Replaced it with a spare (SMSL Sanskrit 6th Anniversary) which, on reflection, I think actually sounds better.
I must say, the 'Chinese' second system sounding pretty good to me - my son was down at the weekend so I finally got the speaker cables run. I just need to plumb in the Pioneer DV-717 for CD duties and it's all systems go. I must say though, it's making a rather good job of playing some Mick Abrahams via the Squeezebox at the moment.
On further positive notes I'm enjoying my first mug of Aeropressed coffee, the cold-brew coffee/tea/fruit infuser thingy I ordered will indeed fit in the fridge door and I managed to remove a link from my "magnetic therapy" bracelet without stabbing myself. I suppose I should be thankful for small mercies.

Well, it just gets better and better. Hooked up the Pioneer, played a CD perfectly, played a second CD and a couple of tracks in the drawer popped out and now it won't stay in or play CDs. Interestingly it thinks DVDs are fine though.
Ordered a TEAC CD-P650.
I was going to do some washing, but I'm frightened to touch any of the 'big' appliances. I think I'll just go to bed and pull the covers over my head...until after Christmas.

I have those days too, fortunately for me not that bad.
Today's let down was finding water on the floor and tracing it to a leak in a pipe join. Yet to be fixed.
Last week, that long ago, there was no heat, got the boiler working and managed to achieve water running out of the bottom. Fixed same day by our wunnerful boiler expert James
Various other items have been turned off and on to get working again

Every so many weeks we get a Red light Fault 'F!. It is not listed as a recognised fault in the Boiler service Manual & apparently the yearly service never shows any system faults.. Fantastically reliable Boiler other than that. Switching the isolation switch off & back on clears it. Just gotta live with these things..

This Tuesday. Daughters cd player needed a fix, the cd tray went in and came back out. Replaced the microswitch with one out of the spares box. Cat decided to go on the worktop and knocked over the wine glasses. Cue replacement wine glasses. Orbital sander packed up half way through a job and its not a fuse. Needs looking at.
On the plus side, I found my seventies microsonic digital l.e.d watch while hunting for fuses. Thought id lost it last year, turns out id stored it in a felt bag when the batteries ran out to keep it safe. Put some new ones in and its working again and immensely cool. Love it. Cheered me right up

I'm seriously impressed with "genuinecopies" on eBay. I ordered my replacement remote (which I erroneously labelled the "telly" remote; it was actually the Humax DVR remote) from them yesterday lunchtime and it arrived at 10:30 this morning. The postage was free.

I know the feeling, Paul. I’ve had many a day like that. I’m so clumsy that I bring most of it on myself though.

'Fixed' a light yesterday.
Assumed bulb. Changed bulb. Then noticed the dodgy bulb was a mini fluorescent so checked it. Now works ! Subtle working of the turn off and on again fix
