I was lucky enough to travel on one of the Production APT's [Class 370] in the mid 80's just before they withdrew them. I think Pete Water man owns or owned the APT-E.

Lovely forum. I was wondering if there is a YouTube thread of any kind?
One of the sound engineers on movies 'Cube' and 'The Witch' shows off this impressive device he had custom built to create sounds for horror movies.
Also there is a movie, a bit difficult to get into, starting Toby Jones, called Berberian Sound Studio, available on Hulu that deals with this. Making sounds for horror movies.

Probably just a flaw that someone knows how to exploit. They're on sale for all those things : Tidal,Spotify,Amazon Prime,Netflix etc etc

just remember they've all been ripping us off for years I'll have to say it again, you CANNOT be ripped off unless a) there was fraud involved or b) you are not capable of making a balanced decision. In all other cases, you have free will to pay for a product or service or just walk away. It's your choice.

I can see both sides, and I guess it depends on how you define "rip off".
If it's being conned or hoodwinked, I can see Martin's argument that we have free will and make our own spending decisions based on our own personal needs and wants.
If it's being overcharged, I can also see how companies acting as cartels or seizing large market share can sometimes rig markets to make bigger profits than said market would otherwise sustain. Whilst we may still view what is on offer as being worth the money, the value we perceive is relative to alternatives and so is therefore distorted by the market being manipulated in some way.
As for the specifics of music and TV subscription charges, I have no idea. Might make an interesting thread though, as may the concept of value.

It saddens me to see Spotify hit like this - in all probability they relied on the third party company to get it sorted and it wasn't. Very short-sighted of Wixen as they would hardly benefit if Spotify went under, no record company would. Hopefully it'll get settled out of court.
