He sounded OK at Manchester Arena on the following Saturday night.
His voice was strong enough for a 72 year old, and sensibly there were a couple of numbers that were not on the setlist - Highway Star, and Child In Time.
I must admit that I was a bit concerned about his voice during the BBC concert - there were a few moments when he sounded like a wounded dog.
