Ah the joys of Amazon Prime..
Yesterday I took delivery of an Anker Soundcore Bluetooth stereo speaker. Is it hi-fi? No, of course not, but it is plenty of fun.
I chose one with a matt black finish. Build quality feels solid and you are given an 18 month guarantee! I rather like the rubberized casing but it will get covered in finger-prints for sure.
It is extremely easy to set up and use. Initial charge via USB was about 4 hours. That gives you up to 24 hours playback which is mighty impressive for me. Pairing with my phone took seconds and worked first time.
Streaming from Spotify or YouTube is a breeze. Sound quality, given the diminutive size of the thing is very respectable. I didn't play anything too demanding - how it copes with more complex fare I am yet to see but it has good clarity. Don't be expecting trouser-flapping bass.
Of course you could do better if you looked at the likes of Bose and Bang & Olufsen (excuse my language) but you'll be paying a lot more money. This cost me 29.99 delivered and will be accompanying me to Copenhagen to provide some suitably cultured hotel chamber music...
