I'm really looking forward to a short break in Copenhagen ... Am ploughing through a guide book at the moment but just wondering if any of you chaps have been? If so I would welcome any recommendations for places to visit and also some restaurant tips would be handy ... Naturally I've already looked up the vinyl purveyors ...

We have been a couple of times. It's a great city. For food, try Riz Raz - massive vegetarian smorg buffets, superb chilli sauce! Recommending a veggie place is unheard of from me, as I'm a rampant meat eater, but this place is great. We had a superb meal at a restaurant situated on the edge of a square, Peder Oxe ( www.restaurantpederoxe.com/ ) The highlight for me, the cheese freak, was the cheese board which was known as the cheese clock. 12 pieces of cheese, starting with the most mild at 1 o'clock, you work your way round to midnight, which is the strongest, most pungent thing in the galaxy. There is some fascinating architecture, both old and new. If that's your kind of thing, a good way of seeing it is to jump onto one of the canal tours. Check out the spire with the spiral staircase going around the outside! The art gallery has a great collection of work by Hammershoi, which I love. Jump on the train up to Helsingor and go to Kronborg castle - the pad of Shakespeare's Hamlet (Elsinor). Watch out for the Swedes pouring off the ferry to buy cheap booze though! Leave some space in your bag for used vinyl, I bought tonnes of it there!

I will do my best to take some pics and write up a little report for those interested.
If anyone else has been it would be great to hear from you.

One tip about photography: If you plan to go to Christiania, they used to advise not to take a camera, as there is a lot of drug dealing going on. Not sure it is still the case but I would check. Don't let that put you off going there though!
