Here is Robert Plant with 'Whole Lotta Love' in the BBC studios a couple of days ago - not so keen on the backing band myself but jeez his voice and performance is still outstanding!! www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05j73dkIt will always rankle with me that I never got to see Zep live ...

Great to see Seth Lakeman there too, he's a terrific young talent. Not only is he playing in Planty's band but he's also the support act on tour too which means he could be on stage for up to 4 hours per night, and it's a 6 month tour I believe. Remember when you had that much stamina and energy? No! Nor do I.

On Later tonight ! I did see Zep. Missed them at The Toby Jug as the world turned up and we were too far back in the queue. Great at the 2nd Bath Festival, Shepton Mallett. Will always remember Whole Lotta Love with a fire engine coming onto the field, siren blaring to put out a fire started punters wanting to keep warm. Don't think it was planned Not sure if they did the first Bath Festival.....

Plant is great but the band sound like they're playing something else. That will be at Percy's behest! Bob Plant doesn't mind playing Led Zeppelin material, as he was a part of creating it, and he's rightfully proud of it. What he point blank refuses to do is slavishly copy what was recorded on the LZ albums. He doesn't do cabaret! Bob Plant's current band are more engaged in exploring and playing World Music (something that has been a fascination and passion of Bob Plant for many years), and so the LZ material gets fairly comprehensively reworked. The reason why Led Zeppelin have not toured following that 2007 concert at the O2, is because Bob Plant does not want to get caught up in doing a Led Zeppelin cabaret show. If there's no new material written and recorded, then there's little point in going out touring.
