Spotted in Manchester - Cabbies protest. If they carry on like this they'll loose their argument!

Thanks Paul. All I need now is a Grammar Nazi badge, and then it will be a full set Martin I have loved that Steely Dan album for the last forty three years, and I've never noticed PRETZLES in all that time. Maybe that spelling mistake was the driving force behind the photographer taking the shot

Thanks Paul. All I need now is a Grammar Nazi badge, and then it will be a full set ... I deliberately steered away from that phrase for fear of causing offence.

It is called stating a fact, Music style is basically a fashion, fashions do not last, they get re invented in which case they are not the genuine article. Yours is just petty rubbish..
What is 'WANNA' suppose to mean in your Signature?
Would you argue the toss regarding An original Fender Strat compared to a modern production model ofc you would..

Petty rubbish? The ability to communicate clearly with the written word is seemingly a lost art form. The number of times I've seen lose spelled as loose is something that grates considerably. What do they use when they want to describe something that's not tight? It's not even spelled in a phonetically correct manner; if it were then we'd be seeing looze. I'd prefer that folk used looze instead, because then we'd all understand what's supposed to be said a lot more easily. Looze actually accomplishes what written language is all about, which is communicating an idea. Using another word altogether introduces ambiguity and doubt, and that's why I object to lose being spelled as loose. Moving on to WANNA - it means want to, which is something you already knew. It's intended to mimic more closely the manner in which it is often spoken, which is also something you already knew. Does it hinder the understanding of what's been written? No! My signature is a direct quote from the opening lines of a song, so it's written in a manner intended to closely mimic the way the words were spoken. As for this, "Would you argue the toss regarding An original Fender Strat compared to a modern production model ofc you would..", no I wouldn't, and what does ofc mean?

May I calm the waters by saying that this thread is specifically by pedants for pedants? There is no need to fall out over it, though!
