Pic looks fine and it sounds great so all you have to do is get more black kit ! I'm scared to come to yours as it means I spend money I'll start working on my "you must hear this" list

Right - I have my new Coherent 6D power cable and another set of RDC Cone Cups for the Ayre. Tonight is going to be a major listening session. I'm particularly interested in how the cable works now that I've improved the system so much, still using the MCRU Ultimate cable.

Just a very quick update on the trials as I'm too tired to write lots:
1) RDC Cone Cup footers under the RDC 1 Cones supporting the Ayre. Perhaps too much of a good thing, took some of the attack away and very slightly softened the edges. Went back to without the Cups and preferred it as-is. I shall try the Cups next under the Aurorasound VIDA, which is also on RDC 1 Cones and may prefer them being a sensitive MC phono preamp.
2) Coherent 6D power cable. This one is staying in place. I'm glad to say that I heard as much, if not more, of what it does this time around than when I first heard it in my system. Feeding the regenerator (and therefore the entire system), it improves fine detail, makes transient attack even more punchy, improves tonality across the midrange by reducing glare and just does a marvellous job of pushing the music and leaving the small irritants behind. I haven't played a single piece of music yet that it hasn't revealed more of. This is not a cheap cable, so it needed to be good and I don't think my system was ready for it until now. However, I'm glad I now have it. I've asked TonyC to make me another shorter one for the Chord power amp as that is the biggest current drain on the system and, curiously, is very sensitive to its mains quality. Great cable, but only for well sorted and highly resolving systems.

Interesting on the cups
I'm even more apprehensive about coming to you to hear how good it sounds
What big steps when it seemed there were only tiny ones left

Every time I think "that's it, I cannot do any more with my components" I find a way of getting more! This is good because upgrading any component now would be at very serious cost, and I simply couldn't afford it at the moment.
I think the RDCs have improved the system rack no end, and therefore every single component has benefitted.

I have granite place mats on their way !
The RDCs are a fairly easy swap out Would be interesting to take all of mine out, listen and back again

Ah
Hopefully just sticky on the mat side, not the kit side ?

It wouldn't be sticky-back, otherwise!

Do you have a way of putting granite on top of the Chord ?
The top of it is quite warm so I assume it need to expel heat ......
