Martin, What do you think of the MS Audio rca's and the KLE's?

Sorry Gaz, I don't think I've ever used them. For me, the WBTs (0110Ag) are the best of the ones I've tried and I've had all my Yannis cables made with them.

I feel the single point earth contact RCA plugs produce a more fixed image with greater leading edge than most of the traditional earthing RCA plugs, though they do seem to lack stage width and overall detail. However there are of-course exceptions.

Hi alaska
I only watch about three dramas and a film per week. The split is probably something like 80:20 in favour of music.

I love the sound of the Beresford DAC after having performed Stan's Venom-3 mods. Other than that, as all the new kit has settled down, I profess to being exceedingly happy with my system. It just makes compelling music, pure and simple. I'm just going to focus on building my music collection for a while.

I've had a dawning realisation: I don't care about analogue versus digital any more; I don't worry about vinyl versus CD versus SACD versus DVD-A media; I'm not bothered by AAD versus DDD production; and I couldn't care less about old versus new material. Classical label idiosyncrasies are almost irrelevant now. I know this to be true through extended listening and the realisation that I have so much more insight into the music that hi-fi concepts just aren't entering my thoughts. Today, on my day off, I pulled Sheryl Crow's Tuesday Night Music Club, a disc I thought I knew well, onto the Ayre. It was like listening to a different performance and, try as I might, I kept returning to the songs and what she must be thinking while performing them, did she even suspect that she would make the big time? I've been doing it again and again, falling into the performances and forgetting about everything else. All manner of music and media are having the same effect on me time and time again. It has all coalesced into this simple thought:
There are now only good performances and bad performances.
Forgive me if you're tempted to say it's obvious, "I knew that" or that I must have read it somewhere, because this is MY learning process and MY realisation and I had to get there all on my own after all these years of building and fine tuning my system. It's taken me a long time and a bloody good system to make the jump away from considerations of what sounds best to just what the performances are like. It's not as if I didn't listen to the performances in the past, it's more like the system has simply stepped aside for me now. Yes, the technology is there doing its stuff but it has become so good that I've finally arrived at a place where virtually everything I have music-wise is giving me 95% or more of what can be had from it. Even a poor recording of a great performance is fine and the sound soon stops bothering me. Call it a better window, an enabler or whatever you like, it's a great place to be.
It's a dizzying realisation and I'm having such fun listening to so much more material, some of which I haven't played in many years.

A day off ! Whatever next ?
I have a similar observation which may or may not agree
There are good albums and there are bad ones.
Potential point of disagreement is the performance could be great but the engineer or producer messed it up I'll have to try that Kokomo album again...

Its a great place to be simply enjoying music. I kind of see it as one of the main goals of any system
