Step son is trading up and trading in his 2007 Ford Focus, 1.6 with 100k on the clock. He has been offerred £500 trade in which sounds like a joke to me. Anyone know better ?
Autotrader have them starting higher than that and going well over £1000. Worth taking a punt and selling it for him ?
I've driven it and well impressed

Trade in is almost always ridiculously low in comparison to what you can get from selling it privately, but even I think that is a bit too low.
Could be the dealer doesn't 'need' the sale of the new car, suggest they go elsewhere personally.

Worth getting a price from any on-line buyers but don't use that dealer because he obviously isn't going to give a discount on the car being purchased.
