Strife is just a keyboard away. Well it's bound to happen now and then, varying personalities being what they are clashes will occur. The mods will be on top of it and common sense will prevail ultimately.

How strange this should come up. I was amused by an attempt elsewhere to hide a personal attack by suggesting it wasn't really and Jessica came to mind. "My son displays a general garment and you claim it's cut to your fit - what a fascinating revelation" Obviously a Frank Herbert fan

Read every single one of his books. Wonderful author. There were a few, I have this lot on the Mac as well as most of them on that old redundant paper format I think my favourite is still Dragon in the Sea. Also interesting are his son's continuation stories. Nowhere close to being so well written but still interesting to see more of the universe Frank herbert created.

I have Soul Catcher in paperback, which I believe is quite hard to get.
Whipping Star has me in fits of laughter every time I read it. I love lingual misunderstandings!

Going back to the OP ... Sometimes, very rarely, there is combination of different and incompatible world views and senses of humour, and ne'er will the twain meet. Gordon has sent me a very pleasant msg via a 3rd party, for which I thank him, and I am happy to 'let peace break out'. Nonetheless, to be honest, I'm not sure it is safe to take Gordon off my Ignore list, as too much of what he posts distresses me either by its content or its manner and I think I will be in a happier place if I don't see it! ... and I will also not be tempted to respond in an unsuitable way. Ah well, so it goes. No animosity, just an incompatibility!

Try being a Marxist in 2014 Great Britain . As I said before , people whose posts annoy [ distress ] you generally says more about you than the person .

And you choose to run a forum Indeed, sometimes I'm roaring with laughter here in the office, either at a forum post or an e-mail from staff. Although "The Internet is down", followed by my retort "What, ALL of it?" is becoming a kind of norm.

For the record .... life's too short. I have it in good authority that Gordon is a good guy .... so I'll once again be viewing his thoughts and musings on here, and trying not to get too wound up.
