I was reading the specs and was surprised to see that it was feature wise nearly identical to the Lumia 950XL. Is Apple no longer innovating, but is instead copying the best ideas and then rebranding them as their own?

Whilst I'm an Apple fan, isn't this something they've always done?

Is Apple no longer innovating . . . I don't do Apple but do acknowledge what they are good at, or used to be. Love him or hate him, Steve Jobs was one of the greatest innovators of our time. Without him Apple haven't really pulled many rabbits out of the hat and everyone else has caught up. But it's now a religion and a powerful one at that.

What did he invent himself? Nothing of note.

Guys, innovate and invent are two different concepts - which is what the theme was as far as I was concerned. In its purest sense, invention can be defined as the creation of a product or introduction of a process for the first time. Innovation, on the other hand, occurs if someone improves on or makes a significant contribution to an existing product, process or service.
Hahaha, forgot how forums can be, twisting, turning and misinterpreting. I was just referring to Stans reference to Apples innovation, or current lack of it.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant . . .

"What did he invent himself" was the question asked!
No matter, I hear you and agree that Jobs, while unpleasant personally, was a great innovator. Apple innovated much, but invented relatively little.

I was only ever talking about innovation and that was highlighted by the illustious Mr Brook by asking how did I work that out, from my statement "Steve Jobs was one of the greatest innovators of our time" which I still stand by. But he just annoys me anyway, as I'm sure I do him

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant . . . I knew exactly what you meant. But here's how I see it, Apple basically steals/borrows/buys loads of ideas created/invented by lots of different people/companies and made them their own by packaging and wrapping them up in their own patents and cleverly designing them in such a way as to make money. Innovators? I'm not so sure, I don't see them producing much that someone else hasn't done already. You can bet they have a team of 'experts' scouring the obsolete patents daily 😉 They also know that by building in obsolescence in their products that people have to always upgrade and buy a newer product even though their current would work perfectly if Apple didn't kill it off with no more support. Mind you Apple aren't the only company to do this, the digital age is responsible for so much junked or scrapped electronics it's ridiculous. Forrest Gump has a lot to answer for 😉 Sent from my iPad, using my Android phone as WiFi hotspot whilst on a beach in Cephalonia, Greece, listening to Spotify via B & W Bluetooth headphones 😂😂😂😂😂

Nice island, I was there the night Diana died and have never returned. Nothing to do with it, but I just remember it vividly because of that event. The mourning even touched there.
