My network infrastructure manager had his policy renewal come in at almost 200%, for a Nissan Leaf!

Blackbushe Meet, 2 June 2024. For once we had a gorgeous day and there was an outdoor coffee stall, better than the usual queueing required at the cafe. As more members sell and buy something else, we have more 'guest' cars. A GR Yaris, Subaru WRX, Toyota Supra and a Tesla (!) were all present.

You may remember my step son had the steering rack go on his Jag Fixed. £4000 Broken again Waiting to hear if warranty covers it - after no time at all There must be warranty on the repair itself? I'd be leaving the bloody thing parked in front of their doors with a demand to FIX IT NOW! To think some well-meaning friends have suggested I buy an F Type next. No thanks.

The chap opposite me has had three F types since Janauary one warrany return!
Jag's/RR/LR apart from having stupid insurance premiums are not the most reliable vehicles by a long shot and they are expensive when they go wrong which is quite frequent. imho leave alone

Looks like I may have to buy myself a car due to troubles with the boss's Saab
Medium size, maybe estate, petrol or hybrid maybe even electric Skoda seems good as do most Japanese brands The last Saabs made are now a bit old to consider or I'd have one
Not Jaguar for sure

You need to see it in the flesh to appreciate how awful it looks

Both of the above are awful.
Skodas are just VWs, so do your homework on which engines are reliable and which to avoid.

Both of the above are awful. Skodas are just VWs, so do your homework on which engines are reliable and which to avoid. The BMW in the flesh is awful Plenty of research if the boss gets her way Not diesel but may have to get auto as the boss needs that and she is bound to be driving it. Basically her 2nd car anyway Need to start amassing data

Being retired for a few years now, I rarely ever drive my 2014 Porsche TTS with 22K miles. It's the best car I have ever owned and I will likely never sell it, just there when needed. These days I drive my golf cart to the TCU gym every morning for my daily workout and shower. Then do projects around the house or play music.....

My plan was to have my 1996 Saab maintained nicely with serious work but when the gearbox went, minus the serial number plate, made it next to impossible to replace

The 9-3 was based on the GM Cavalier/Vectra chassis, not the last word in refinement. Shit, I think was the verdict.

120k service completed today. A few things fixed: strange clicking noise found to be corrosion behind a front brake disk causing movement under load. Both sides cleaned up and rebuilt. Left washer jet one-way valve replaced. Replacement Rogue manifold overpipe ordered as mine is blowing slightly. That's it.
The detail above is because the BRZ has now completed 122k miles and nothing but trivial stuff has ever gone wrong with it. Six years of pounding up and down the M3, with 50% supercharged power over stock, and not a single thing of import has stopped me. Not even an oil leak. My hat goes off to Subaru. Not one of the four BMWs I owned came even close to this reliability.
