Would just like to say after a recommendation from Martin I have being trying the Diesel Rhino this past week Well it certainly is a step up over the Millers diesel treatment, much smoother transition through the gears, engine picks up sooner in the rev band a good 200 rpm earlier Power delivery is stronger and yet smoother (improved combustion possibly due to greater cetene rating?) Overall MPG is also up around 3mpg more I travel around 600 miles so I monitor the fuel usage carefully also the engine noise at idle is obviously lower Another bonus of the product is you use less of it manufacturer recommends 1ml per litre of fuel I will be taking the C class out tomorrow so will be trying The formula with a touch more horsepower Thanks for the tip Martin

Great, Tony. I have noticed a solid and continuous 2-3mpg improvement as well as greater torque, smoke reduction and quieter engine. Buy it in bulk and dispense to the smaller bottle kept in the boot.

Careful you guys, or you’ll be branded by the cynical and uninitiated as: "look at me I am a cut above yer average type thinkers” I’ll give the Rhino a go in my jalopy, and report back. Marco.

Btw (Martin or Tony), are you using the Rhino in conjunction with BP Ultimate diesel (or similar) or just standard diesel fuel?
Marco.

I still use BP Ultimate.

Has anyone noted any positive differences when using "ultimate" diesel instead of regular ? If so, what would be best ? A) Regular diesel with additive. B) Ultimate diesel.

Looking at Diesel Rhino web pages, I see mention of using it in home heating fuel.
"Antioxidants – With three antioxidants Diesel Rhino will keep your diesel fresh in your diesel tank or heating oil tank."
Anyone tried this ?

No. I use an air source heat pump for all my heating needs.
I am interested to try the "Diesel Rhino" though. I'll have to have a look to see if I can buy it locally.

If so, what would be best ? A) Regular diesel with additive. B) Ultimate diesel. Slightly difficult to answer as I've mainly compared regular versus Ultimate and regular/Rhino (when my local BP has run out) versus Ultimate/Rhino. I find that any time I use regular I really notice the laggy nature of pickup and the less smooth responses. Rhino can't completely save it. Therefore I would take Ultimate over regular/Rhino.

Good question Pre
With the day to day ride I do not ways have the ability to use the Ultimate BP or equivalent
Basic diesel it does improve greatly though as Martin has observed it doesn't remove the lag or reduce the smoke to the same degree as the premium diesel
One other top quality fuel to try is Total 's excellum I rate it higher than Bp ultimate the only drawback is the availability is sporadic at best
I have purchased the bigger quantity and use the dispensing bottle
A good find Martin
Just off to fill up the toy

One other top quality fuel to try is Total 's excellum I rate it higher than Bp ultimate the only drawback is the availability is sporadic at best Hi Tony, I’ve tried Total Excellum in France a few times (where it is more widely available) and I’m afraid didn’t find it anything special…. In Italy, Tamoil and Agip offer some superb ‘premium diesels’, which I used to good effect when on holiday with the car there last year. One point to make here, however, is that performance cars (say, those over 150 BHP) are the ones likely to respond most to the benefits of ‘premium fuels’. A ‘different’ diesel fuel I’ve had good results with locally (certainly in comparison with BP Ultimate diesel) is Gulf’s Dieselect, see here:www.gulfoil.com/ProductsServices/MotorFuels/DieselDieselect.aspx and more info here: gulf.al/files/docs/2305_Gulf_Dieselect.pdfThere’s a Gulf station nor far from the BP one I use, so might try using the Dieselect for a while and see how it goes, then later swap back to BP Ultimate (and Shell V-Power Nitro+, which I also get good results with) and see what happens. It’s a bit like with cables in a hi-fi system: you always notice the difference more when returning to a known benchmark Marco.

Reporting back after trying DR in the weekend hack. Very little fuel was left in the tank so the recommended triple first shot of DR plus BP finest and were off to the west country via the delightful M4, didn't really use the power just trundled along at the proscribed pace until Portishead. Engaged the forward momentum pedal with a touch more vigor further down the M5 when the traffic thinned out and to quote a well worn phrase from that most agreeable of moving pictures "Car's got a lot of pickup" Yes indeedy the difference between the Millers and the Diesel Rhino is much more accentuated with the 'V' motor, in gear changes and pick is very noticeably improved, cleaner and smoother through the first 5 gears, also seems to hang on longer before changing up. Even though urban driving you can feel the car picking up much better through the corners and general driving, I suspect the more efficient the engine the better the DR works. The day to day drive is luke warm in terms of tune though delivering a solid 230Bhp and around 365lbs of torque form a four pot diesel banger and that was still a good improvement over the Millers. On the weekend drive the difference is pretty damn obvious. Such was the effect I felt it was time to pull over, uncork the valve and hit the bottle warmer on the NoS haven't used this for a while, so I only dialed in the basic 50 Bhp and headed up the local super slab again. Humm.. now that really brings things into focus, the DR formula is really coming into its own I would also say I don't have a great deal of turbo lag the way the turbo's are configured (variable geometry etc) they start producing real power from 1600rpm the DR does give a smoother more torquey (is there such a word as that???) delivery which makes the vehicle easier to drive. Well yesterday was go for broke, very happy with the way the car's performing so it was time to give Vmax a try on the set up I have programmed in, the max Nos available is 150Bhp. It managed to chirp the tries changing into 4th this stuff works superbly with the laughing just pure power pulling all the way to the 5200 red line effortlessly. The only casualty of the day were the Conti sport contact 5's a great all round comfort / sports tyre as long as they treated with respect. Overall very pleased with the DR thoroughly recommended very good call Martin

Some many years ago I had a Saab 900 turbo (8 valve pre GM) and it developed a fault with the turbo. I think it was the pipe between turbo and wastegate had split.
Anyway, when giving "welly" the boost went up till the overboost sensor cut the ignition, but up to that moment it flew.
Now, being young (ish) and inquisitive ( ) I disconnected the overboost sensor to see what would happen and it flew even more.
I rectified the fault soon after to ensure engine longevity.

I've got a friend who is lusting after a Mercedes SL600, and he's having trouble finding EXACTLY the one he wants.
I've offered to help him search, question is are there any good search web sites apart from Ebay or Autotrader ?

My small bottle of Diesel Rhino turned up today. I'll be filling the car up next week, so I'll give it the triple dose. If it does anything noticeable in my car (320D), I'll probably buy a big bottle.
