Not bad for a newspaper article on the subject. However the writer needs to listen to a wider range of gear and steer clear of Absolute Sounds / Linn. I also suspect some of the fancy overseas brands people are buying will lack support in the long term. He at least hit on Q acoustics and Richer Sounds as value for money. I now recall Ian Rankin doing reviews but only now associated that with the famous writer.

Agreed, he had only researched the Linn/Naim axis and some American gear. There's a lot more out there, although admittedly it's hard to get to hear.

Pretty good for a newspaper.
How would I do it better . Perhaps talk about hearing more music with better kit, that doesn't have to be so expensive. Much like any subject it has been subjected to the fit required for a newspaper and the punter who doesn't know hifi that well and in the main will always say Good enough for me

It's a shame that he had to settle for Magico speakers in the mega system. If he had heard that system with Wilsons he wouldn't be talking about the later Linn system being in the same galaxy.
