I bought a Chinese Little Bear valve headphone amp off of Flea Bay and changed to valve to a amperex 12au7 that I had anyway and i'm quite pleased with it the only other thing I had to do was buy a pair of passive attenuators because the voltage coming from my CDP was to high, worked good on the tv and PC too without the attenuators. What I forgot to say it that the power toggle switch wasn't working right when I received it so I emailed them and they told me to work the switch so I ended up breaking it anyway the short and curly's is I ended up getting a £20.00 refund to repair the switch that was stuck in the on position so all I do is plug it in when I want to use it,bit naughty I know considering it only cost me £39.00 and £10 of that was shipping
Anyone else bought one of these ?what do you think of them ?

I found changing the valves out make a hell of a differance I did the same with a valve-buffer kit I built. I swapped out the 6J1 valves for a matched "ruggedised" GE 5654W pair and the improvement was instantly apparent.

I've messed around with some of the Cheap Chineese stuff and found it to be punching well above its price point.

Some folks drink expensive beer! I drink expensive beer. The trick is to drink only one and really enjoy it.

From the top - Valve buffer built from kit. SMSL SA-36A amp SMSL Sanskrit DAC Total outlay =£144.73 (including £12.00 for upgraded valves for the buffer) These are used every day, sound pretty good providing sound/music direct from my PC, seem to be lasting just fine.

Which Schiit are you talking about, their bottom-end DAC or the combination headphone amp/DAC?
My DAC was £80.00 and has Coaxial/Optical/USB (ATM) inputs. Coaxial/Optical inputs support 192KHz @ 16/20/32BIT and USB supports 32bit @ 192KHz. It also supports 88.2KHz. I don't think those specs are too "backwards" do you?
