What do you guys think? It's a design sample at this stage that I am putting through its paces. Over the years quite a few people didn't buy the TC-7220 because of their worries that someone would press in both amplifier selector switches. Other folks wanted more finger room between the connectors, because they were worried about shorting out outputs with any lose wire strand. A speaker terminal manufacturer came out with a wider design recently, so I decided to see if I could make use of them in a new speaker selector design. The width of the assembly makes it only possible to fit one pair or speakers output though.

Looks neat Stan, much more in keeping with the DAC's aesthetically.

Is amps 2:1 speakers more in demand than amp 1:2 speakers?

Is amps 2:1 speakers more in demand than amp 1:2 speakers? I have no idea. But it is quite possible to use this switch in "reverse" mode. So you could use one amp to drive one of two pairs of speakers.

I realise that, but some may not. Thought you could sell it as two models and have swappable panels or labels.

It's worth considering. I am also thinking of making an auto switching version of the TC-7210. It's the only wiring configuration that would be able to support auto switching. I designed the world's first auto audio/video SCART switch about twenty years ago. And auto switching has often crossed my mind with a twin amp setup.

What I need Stan, is a device that will switch between a bi-amp set-up and a single amp set-up into the same pair of speakers. I don't expect you could sell those by the container load though!!

The TC-7220 has the right amount of sockets to satisfy the requirements for a bi-amp/single amp switch. The internal wiring arrangement would be the main obstacle.

Hi Stan, I've had the original version for years. I use it to switch my main speakers between the surround sound system and the hifi. The new version looks very nice.
