Which model are these? I can't find a 688B listed anywhere.
I'm running 668B and they're damned good (you need to remove the inner filter diaphragm thingy).

Ah, good stuff. They will seem a bit brash when new so leave them running music overnight and they will settle down into a good level of performance.

Hi Martin I've just taken the pad off of one side to see a paper ring that goes around the diaphragm that's well stuck down are you talking about that or the foam filter that goes in the front of the diaphragm ?

Just the foam filter, nothing else.

I removed the foam sponges that cover the diaphragms and I must agree it made quite a difference , didn't think it would make much difference but it did .
I'll report on how things went tomorrow after I've burnt them in a bit if I get time.

I just sent an email to Jerry this is what I said;
I've had the superlux playing all day and Martin is right they do need breaking in also the foam removing from the cups my conclusion is they are more than worth the £30.00 asking price but they have short cummings in fine detail and I don't know if it's me not being used to open back headphone but I just didn't like the presentation/image of these phones but what do you expect of a set of headphones at this price point but they will be more than adequate for my needs listening to my pc

I'd agree with that summary, Tim. They're not earth-shattering but are very good headphones for the low price. I'm not a great headphone user but appreciate them sometimes when listening in a noisy environment.

I'm glad I found my 668Bs after the house move and have now fitted the new ear pads. I have to say, once again, just how good these 'phones are for not much money. Transparent, decent bass and non-harsh.

I took this shot a while ago of how well they make an all-in-one portable system with the Sansa Clip+ mp3 player!
